I took this deck idea from Atma, I think, or FR2 (always get those guys mixed up); the list looks a lot like his. // Lands 3 [10E] Swamp (4) 2 [INN] Isolated Chapel 1 [M11] Sunpetal Grove 4 [RAV] Overgrown Tomb 4 [INN] Woodland Cemetery 4 [RTR] Temple Garden 3 [M13] Forest (4) 1 [IN] Plains (4) 2 [INN] Gavony Township // Creatures 1 [AVR] Craterhoof Behemoth 2 [AVR] Griselbrand 2 [RTR] Angel of Serenity 4 [RTR] Lotleth Troll 2 [M13] Thragtusk 4 [WWK] Arbor Elf 4 [INN] Avacyn's Pilgrim // Spells 4 [INN] Unburial Rites 4 [RTR] Grisly Salvage 2 [RTR] Jarad's Orders 2 [RTR] Abrupt Decay 2 [RTR] Chromatic Lantern 3 [INN] Liliana of the Veil // Sideboard SB: 2 [M13] Thragtusk SB: 4 [ZEN] Vampire Nighthawk SB: 4 [RTR] Centaur Healer SB: 2 [AVR] Restoration Angel SB: 2 [INN] Garruk Relentless Pretty basic. Angel has actually been a pretty mediocre reanimation target; noone ever has any targets for her ability when you reanimate her on Turn 3. I'm not sure what else is out there to replace her; maybe Gisela is worth running in her place (or at least over 1 of her), even though splashing for red stretches the manabase a little further. Craterhoof Behemoth as a 1-of is a real nice gamebreaker; I'm tempted to squeeze in Somberwald Sage to hardcast it a bit easier, but even going Turn 1 Arbor Elf, Turn 2 Troll and Avacyn's Pilgrim, Turn 4 discard Craterhoof Behemoth, cast Unburial Rites, attack with a 9/9 and a 7/6 Lotleth Troll is pretty funny; especially because if they sweep you, you reanimate and beat for 6 the following turn. The sideboard plan was just a random thing I thought up. Many people have been saying that there's a lot of really powerful graveyard hate expected (because of Zombies, etc.), so my plan was that you just transform sideboard into some kind of bizarre Junk deck, which happens to have a ton of lifegain to beat the other midrange and aggro decks once you do. Tweaking is to be expected. Other than those two things, it's been pretty good, although remarkably I seem to kill people with a 5/4 Lotleth troll more often than I would have expected.
It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.
It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

You don't find Liliana's BB pretty hard to accomplish since you've built this so heavy base green? I could see some awkward games where someone gets ballsy and kills your Arbor Elf and you're just pushed off by a turn or two which turns into a disaster.
I also made a list like this, but used my dredgers in it. I also think the deck wants Jarad to throw Griselbrands and the like at faces. One swing for 7 in the air and 7 pt fling seems significant.
Boasts?

Wouldn't you use Rise From the Grave instead because of mana requirements and the ability to pilfer your opponent's bin? If you had room that is...

How reliably can you cast nighthawk on the curve with 11 black sources, especially when t1 you want a non-cipt green source for a dork?
1000th post November 26, 2010. Where Islands gets his decks: Spoiler:
Show
It was revealed to me in a dream. All the cards were in my dream except for three slots which I plugged in as Vault Skirge.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The dream was post AVR so there was a copy of Slayer's Stronghold. I decided to keep it pre AVR in my post here.
EDIT: I just remembered. The Skirges might have been 2x Whipflare and 1x something else, probably War and Peace.
EDIT2: Currently 4-0 in my first four games with this. My opponents have been very angry. I fought off a Wurmcoil from Grixis for six turns before I found my second Dispatch. Jeez, I can do a lot of damage.
EDIT3: Streak broken. Lost to an unexpected Overrun. Cracking a Shrine for 10 wasn't enough.
How Kedi tests his decks: Spoiler:

also, I've been playtesting this deck in my sleep today that kinda freaked me out

I believe there are 13 black sources in the deck. 3 Swamp, 2 Chapel, 4 Tomb, 4 Cemetery.
Is Pack Rat an acceptable gy enabler for these types of decks? Pretty good on defense, gives Behemoth more value, gives you more flexibility to discards than Lotleth. I don't know. That card seems to be getting a lot of love around here lately.
