Of course snipe will tear up standard and shine in modern, heck I might buy a few sets just to sell off in a few months or even weeks just because I have a hunch he'll hit the $5-$7 mark in no time. Anyways onto the topic it's really hard to determine what cards are under or overrated since they vary between formats and personally I think ALL Planeswalkers are overrated, but I guess i'm bias since I played legacy back when you could get a set of FoW for $60ish, bloodstained mires were like $32 a set, etc... this was back when people would kick you in the nuts for even mentioning a card type like a planeswalker but yeah that's just my 2 cents.

Kitchen Finks is $5-7. Are you comparing Guttersnipe to Kitchen Finks?

Yeah I was, Guttersnipe > Finks

Epic Experiment is underrated because people don't know how to play it.

BWAHAHA, you sir just made my day.

Barring some form of infinite combo I can not see guttersnipe seeing any play outside of Standard.

Better than Finks. Priceless.

-edit for clarity-

3 mana for a 3/2 that can block favourably, return to the battlefield to chump, and gain you 4 life in the process.

Vs.

3 mana for a 2/2 that probably can't block favourably. And MIGHT deal some extra damage if it survives long enough for you to cast another spell.

3 mana 3/2 + 2 life guaranteed. Potential 2/1 and 2 life.

Vs.

3 mana 2/2 guaranteed. Potential 2+ damage.

I'm not saying it's better, but Guttersnipe is very useful.  The two cards are so different that it's not really a fair comparison.  It's like saying that Thragtusk is better than Wurmcoil Engine since his abilities are guaranteed.  Both cards are really good, but Wurmcoil Engine is potentially much, much better so long as it's not exiled, unsummoned, etc.  Guaranteed gains are really good, but sometimes the potential gains are better/worth the chance.

P.S.  There is no way the Snipe ever hits $5, but he is good in the right deck.

Overrated? Jace. He went from under to overrated since his initial reveal. He's a playable planeswalker but I see people talking like Architect is the second coming of Mind sculptor.

I think Necropolis regant is highly underrated.

Jace, Architect of Thought is sitting at around $50 right now. A month ago that's where JTMS was. He's higher than both Bob AND Bonfire right now.

WHAT. AM. I. MISSING???

For the life of me, I can't see the value in JAoT, but people somehow, somewhere can. Halp?

Give it a bit, Planeswalkers always start stupid high then settle at a more appropriate price. Unless you're Jace, The Mind Sculptor

I know what you mean, I was thinking this all through M13 and watching Liliana and Ajani flirt with the $30 mark for the longest time. But really? $50? It just makes no sense!

Jace is very good, but "price" is a bit relative. First, I think all the prices we are seeing now are due to go down. People are cracking packs like crazy and it's creating a surplus. Second, he is good, but he's not Mindsculptor good and I honestly don't see him going that way. I think the price will come down.
