troll is not good at all in this build
Fixed. Troll looks amazing on paper, and he IS pretty darn good. The issue is, he is far from ideal in an aggro build. There are currently 2 cards that you want to pitch to him: Gravecrawler and Slitherhead and the latter is nigh useless without the presence of the troll. He would just be better later game, when you're topdecking Diregraf ghoul s, but as it is troll is not a great card here.
And indigo, I don't mean to be combative, it it almost seems as though you're ignoring everything that Rancor does apart from the +2/+0. I mean, yes, they will likely be chumped, but how often is it that that particular creature would not have been chumped anyway? At least now it has trample. And yes, a lack of toughness bonus means they will die a lot, but in that case, rancor just comes back to your hand, so honestly, I don't see the issue.

And helps activate mi artista!! Si si señor!
Love what rancor adds to artist. Artist does his job whether or not he is actually doing his job so to speak. He sets up bad block situations where life is lost either way. It's the classic damned if you do damned if you don't. Go ahead and waste removal on him. No matter to me. Love what green adds here.

Not in the presence of rancor, though. But on its own it does basically nothing.

Some real Kavu Titaning going on here.
It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.
It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

1000th post November 26, 2010. Where Islands gets his decks: Spoiler:
Show
It was revealed to me in a dream. All the cards were in my dream except for three slots which I plugged in as Vault Skirge.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The dream was post AVR so there was a copy of Slayer's Stronghold. I decided to keep it pre AVR in my post here.
EDIT: I just remembered. The Skirges might have been 2x Whipflare and 1x something else, probably War and Peace.
EDIT2: Currently 4-0 in my first four games with this. My opponents have been very angry. I fought off a Wurmcoil from Grixis for six turns before I found my second Dispatch. Jeez, I can do a lot of damage.
EDIT3: Streak broken. Lost to an unexpected Overrun. Cracking a Shrine for 10 wasn't enough.
How Kedi tests his decks: Spoiler:

also, I've been playtesting this deck in my sleep today that kinda freaked me out

I wasn't even a little competitive back then, but didn't Kavu Titan see some play, before the bar for creatures was astronomically high? I'm not saying that pitching Dregman to Trololol is the right play every time, or even in a vacuum, but I can see myself doing it frequently in certain matchups/situations, and it's not a bad use for it, owing largely to its compostability. Other reason I like the Troll is aggressive regenerating 2-drop. Tried drafting a Zombie deck in bio lecture the other day, there's too many fantastic goodies to choose from (obviously ignoring a reasonable budget). 4 x Blood Artist 4 x Diregraf Ghoul 3 x Dreg Mangler 4 x Falkenrath Aristocrat 4 x Geralf's Messenger 4 x Gravecrawler 4 x Lotleth Troll 1 x Abrupt Decay 2 x Bonfire of the Damned 2 x Dreadbore 3 x Rancor 2 x Sign in Blood 4 x Blood Crypt 3 x Cavern of Souls 4 x Dragonskull Summit 4 x Overgrown Tomb 4 x Swamp 4 x Woodland Cemetery Aggressive Money.dec A surprising relative lack of mythics in this list, and the Rav2 rares should tank in two months due to vast quantities of product being torn open at literally all hours of the day.

Truth on the reduced prices. I only need 1 more aristocrat and the abrupt decay and my list is finished as is. Got the land from last go around. Oh need manglers and cacklers too, but those are pennies.
Still not sold on the troll. But I will playtest with it. Right now I have 4 slots that I'm not 100% on. As is now its a 2/2 split cackler/mangler. Doesn't feel quite right tho.

Updated list. Lol troll didn't pan out. Never wanted to pitch anything cept crawler and it was just slowing me down. Decided to not play cackler. Great 1 drop, yeah, but deathrite shaman is just so much better tech, and needs to be maindeck. I always want to see him, but I don't have room for a set, running 2 happily right now. Also found bonfire...lacking. I just don't have enough land to make it powerful enough. So instead, I'm trying revenge of the hunted ! Haha it sounds funny, but it makes bonkers plays. Yeah u can remove the target, sure. But you can counter bonfire. So I'm tryin it out! New list as it stands: 4x gravecrawler 4x diregraf ghoul 2x deathrite shaman 4x blood artist 4x geralf's messenger 2x dreg mangler 4x falkenrath aristocrat 4x rancor 4x pillar of flame 2x killing wave 3x abrupt decay 2x revenge of the hunted 4x blood crypt 4x overgrown tomb 4x dragonskull summit 4x woodland cemetery 1x kessig wolf run 1x grim backwoods 3x swamp Sb 4x appetite for brains 4x vile rebirth 1x deathrite shaman 3x annhilating fire 3x sever the bloodline Sb is obvious subject to change, but I thought it gives me a good place to start. May drop to 1 revenge and go up to a brimstone volley . Prob better to have the reach...but revenge is just so darn tasty!

I don't think of Lotleth Troll as a midrange card. With cheap, chuckable Zombies you can get a lot of value out of your two-drop. Turn 1: Gravecrawler (or just hold it to feed the troll if you don't have a handful of them.. I know it's not ideal but it won't hurt you much overall) Turn 2: Lotleth Troll. Turn 3: Chuck 2 Zombies ( Slitherhead or Gravecrawler ideally), Ghoulcaller's Chant , chuck them again, Scavenge or Cast from Graveyard. If you have a pair of Slitherheads and chuck them twice and then Scavenge them to the troll, you're swinging with an 8/7 trampler on turn 3. Oh, and he regenerates. And you'd have the mana to do so. You'd kind of have to build a deck to work around him, but he's vicious. Don't underestimate this guy combined with Scavenge effects.
