Out of curiosity, can a Frostling deal permanent damage to a creature if you sacrifice it, or is it until the end of the turn? I ask this because it does not say in its effect. Also, is there such creature with 0 toughness? I'd like to know because in one duel, my friend had his Null Champion at a level 2 (4/2), and when I played my Farbog boneflinger onto the battlefield (I can target a dreature to have -2/-2) and targeted his Null Champion, hoping it would die because it would be a 2/0 creature, he refused to put in his graveyard, for he said that any creature that is targetedwith that kind of ability also has to have its power down to 0. Is my friend speaking the truth, or is he lying in order to win? i have a hunch that because I am only a beginner, he is trying to cheat and uses the fact that I am inexperienced as an excuse to get by.

there is no "permanent damage", all damage is cleaned up in the cleanup step
Frostling is no exception

your friend was trying to cheat
any creature with toughness 0 or less is moved to the graveyard, no matter its power

Thanks for the information. I will notify my friend and maybe he will listen this time.

If your friend tries to pull that trick again then just build a force of savagery deck and beat him down with it

(in reality force of savagery is only useful in a deck with glorious anthem or something that will prevent it from coming into play at 0 toughness.)
