Ring of Evos Isle
D&D rules were never meant to exist without the presence of a DM. RAW is a lie.

Absolutely the ring for me.  It provides a way for our blue creatures to get in for the win through sheer acumulated might (Ring on a  Welkin Tern with mana open is pretty much gg for most opponents) and also ensures that Jace's defender doesn't die to removal.

I think I'll switch to Ring. I don't really like the blue ring, but at this point in the draft we might be able to make it work for us. You can always just stick it on a Kraken Hatchling or something, if we have enough early blue guys it should be fine.

I can pretty much guarantee that Drain would not wheel from this pack, I'd be more surprised that if we were to pass drain, I'd wager it gets picked up in the next 1-3 maybe 4 picks.
Tolkein was a jerk.  Seriously, what DM sends 9 Wraith Lords at a Lvl 2 party of Halflings.

The only 'correct' way to play D&D is by whatever method is making the group you have at that session, have the most fun.

I would take the Essence Drain here.

The ring is the worst of all the rings in my opinion (maybe tied with the white ring) and the drake is a bit vanilla in this format.  Drain is solid removal that kills over half the creatures in the set and blue/black is a good combination for M13.

2nd pick is the thief, but scatter is leagues beyond it.

Scatter. That's late for it, by the way. Blue might be open, it wouldn't surprise me.
