So the pre-release for Return To Ravnica is supposed to be divided into guilds, and depending on the guild you choose, you'll get one of five guild packs. Each one has a 15 card booster with 15 cards from that guild, my question is, will the packs have 15 cards that are of the guild's colors, or cards that are in the guild...? For example, could I get a Deadbridge Goliath (a card with the Golgari watermark and Golgari mechanic) in a Selesnya pack since he still fits Selesnya's colors? What about Worldspine Wurm? He fits both guild's colors but has no watermark...And how about the planeswalkers?

As far as we know, all cards in the packs will contain cards with the chosen guild's watermark

I think each pack only has one rare, which is predetermined to be your chosen guild's promo.

That said, could something like Eyes in the Sky be in an Azorius pack? Or could Fencing Ace be found in both Azorius and Selesnya packs? I'm guessing no on the first one (for flavour reasons) and yes on the second, but it's really just a guess.

EDIT: Helluminatus sounds pretty sure so his answer is probably more accurate

How did the faction packs work with New Phyrexia? I assume it'll be similar.

Also the promo is not the rare in the guild pack.

MBS faction packs contained only cards watermarked if I recall correctly.

This might be a little different. I could see marked and unmarked cards of two colours, or just the watermarked ones.

Every card in the Scars block (save for PWs) had a watermark.  This was actually because of the "choose your faction" element of the MBS prerelease.

Except for This Guy Tezz was in both packs, though.

Planeswalkers didn't have watermarks because they didn't have the room for it.

read this from a local shops facebook event page, it seems to be instructions from WotC?:

Wizards is pleased to introduce another tournament experience innovation: The Guild Prerelease Pack. Players will choose one of five guilds to champion (Rakdos, Golgari, Azorius, Izzet, Selesnya) and receive a Guild Prerelease Pack to build their Prerelease deck.

Each of the Guild Prerelease Packs contains the following.
5 Return to Ravnica boosters
1 Guild booster with 14 Guild-aligned cards *unique for this Prerelease*

1 Guild promo card which players CAN play at event *new change*
Spindown life counter
Welcome letter from the “Guildmaster”
Guild symbol sticker
Achievement Card
$24.99 MSRP

Hand out 1 Guild Prerelease Pack to each participant in each of your Prerelease events (while supplies last). We advise that you set up a Preregistration sheet including the players first, second and even third guild choice to help create a smooth event. You will be able to run Sealed and 2 Headed Giant events (depending on how you scheduled the event). Both events will follow the same process as above; each Player will receive 1 Guild Prerelease Pack for each event they participate in (while supplies last).

here's the link:

seems to me that guild-aligned would mean only predetermined cards that work in support of that guilds strategy/colors. What do you think?
