This is what I'm afraid of. Makes me sad I picked up all these Lingering Souls at a dollar each. Was hoping to get quadruple my cash in a few months instead of double in a few years.

Cathars' Crusade + Parallel Lives = Tokens can still win.

Unfortunately both of those are unplayable just like tokens will be.

I've had decent success playing Cathars', dropping a Captain of the Watch behind it.  And I have a feeling that we haven't seen the 'really big populate' cards from RtR yet.

Tokens are certainly possible. Sure Bonfire is great, but so will be Rootborn Defenses. Sorry, you won't be Bonfiring the board as planned. PLUS you get another token. Yea that sounds like it works.

here's a selensya deck I've been considering once everthing rotates. Takes major advantage of populate and Wayfaring Temple to overrun everything:

Creatures:
4 x Avacyn's Pilgrim
4 x Wayfaring Temple

Spells:
4 x Slime Molding
4 x Gather the Townsfolk
4 x Selensya Charm
4 x Rootborn Defenses
4 x Fungal Sprouting
4 x Intangible Virtue
4 x Rancor
2 x Growing Ranks

Lands:
2 x Grove of the Guardian
2 x Gavony Township
4 x Sunpetal Grove
7 x Plains
7 x Forest
