As a Spike, I dislike the annointed one.
As a fellow Spike, I can understand why.
@Xeromus: Corpsejack Menace is the type of card you kind of have to build around for. If you would use him, he would serve best in a Jund build where you would have access to all of the unleashed creatures of Rakdos as well as Golgari's scavenge mechanic.
As for Desecration Demon , I think our best bet is to just wait and see how he actually fairs in games. He has potential, there is no doubt about that.

I have been testing the G/B deck with blood artists as the 2 drop. Desecration Demon fits really nicely into the 4 curve if you have an artist out. Also Mutilate/Sever the bloodline are just great against token spam as previously mentioned and again Blood Artist fits here so nicely. Blood Artist might not do much damage when he comes out but over a whole game I usually find he deals more damage (as well as giving you good survivability). Golgari Charm is a good sideboard option against wrath including Bonfire, although this deck just loses to Terminus and without splashing red I see no answer for. I prefer to go with more 1 drops and Rancors over viable other 2 drops as there isn't really any that do so well, (although Knight of Infamy is a great side option). Highborn ghoul is just too slow without the lord to back him up imo.
Another card which no one has mentioned which I am testing 4 of is 'Revenge of the Hunted', this card is nuts! Early as turn 2 (if it truly is a miracle) you are hitting them in the face for 8 which is nearly half their life gone. Late game it can be great mass removal plus evasion for your other creatures to get through.

@eladavus: May we see your deck list? I have been turned off on blood artist due to the lack of consistant synergy which made it so strong in the past (such as mortarpod ). But if you have a 60 that you believe abuses it enough, you may just change my mind. You also mentioned that "this deck just loses to terminus and without splashing red I see no answer for", what in red helps fight against terminus???

slaughter games for pre-emptive terminus/entreat/PW, could have Rakdos's return to make them discard (if they have in hand).

Games is great sb tech. I love blood artist in these lists. It's such a grinder over the turns of the game. It's gonna suck away removal, or get you a huge life swing over the course of the match (sans a counter or terminus). I've also been experimenting with revenge of the hunted as a 1-2 of, with rather shocking results. Gives non red versions a wild haymaker, and I have been finding it more relevant than bonfire. Color me shocked

Ah, slaughter games ... I stand corrected Still I am not sold on the red splash. I main deck 3x liliana of the veil so I am gambling that her plus the self-control to not over extend will give me enough gas to recover from those pesky miracle cards. I really like that player are testing (and liking) revenge of the hunted . It is always nice to see good cards being discovered. I am crossing my fingers that that it is a hit. Keep testing!

I will let y'all know how revenge works out. It does have its problems like removing the target. I ran it first in a super budget MGA deck with gladecover scout -that made for a brutal t2 play, lol. Here...idk. It's just so darn sexy tho, way cheaper than bonfire, and I often more effective. I run a low land count, I rarely can get more than 3 damage out with it. Plus you should see the look on people's faces when you hit your messenger with it on t4 and they are tapped out. Yeah u miss your aristocrat...but who cares at that point? U just buried them. Or if they do remove it, well at least it comes back! I'm just loving the heck out of it, I'm always happy to see it

The main problem with Revenge of the hunted is that, like all miracles, you don't have a lot of control as to when you cast the spell. This is significant because G/B Zombies is predominantly a black deck with a green splash. I understand that we have overgrown tomb and woodland cemetery , but only a few of forest s. revenge of the hunted is a good card at any point in the game, but it works best if cast as early as possible. My point is that if revenge of the hunted turns out to be a total flop and not used at all, it will be because there would be too many instances where you draw it in the first few turns without a green source to pay for the miracle cost.

There is a G/B Zombie thread already in place. Read into it. Post your deck there and I will gladly give my input
So it has been written, so it shall be done.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in an thread with GM_Champion" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go in against AzureShade when card design is on the line!
