Sorry I was late. Had a difficult time of making it work. It's rather short on content but it works mechanically I think without stepping on anyone's toes.

Excellent. Morgothra's up, assuming he's still around. If we don't hear from him in three days or so, I guess I'll take it.

Well, I was hoping Morgothra would post, since I'm working on another prose project and I was hoping to finish tonight, but no matter! I'll try to get my section up tonight. By the way, I think it's time to pull the trigger on this lab battle. I'm going to try to get all the players together and hopefully start things off, but I suspect I won't be able to get to much real action. We'll see what I come up with. EDIT: Spoiler:

Oh, I almost forgot. I think now might be a good time to start thinking about "trimming the fat." In other words, we should start thinking about who can be killed off and/or written out. There are several characters I see as pretty essential to the story, but I would hate to kill off one someone else thought was essential. Here is the short list of people I personally feel we need to keep. I'm putting this out here for discussion and to get us on the same page, not as a mandate. I am certainly willing to change my mind if people feel someone doesn't belong on the list, or someone who isn't listed should be. Remember, this is only my opinion.

Railu Ardir Casamir Jaroslav Jakob Gazwin Flibt Mospe-Tr-Gan
These are the people I would flag as "essential," were I writing this alone. As I' said, though, feel free to disagree.

Okay, section's up, hearts are beating faster, excitement filling the air.
Deckhopper is next.
Also, if Magicpablo666 and Morgothra could give us some sort of indication that they're still around and interested, that would be great. Actually, even if you're around and NOT interested, it would still be nice to know that for when your turns come around. Thanks, guys!

@Neccessary to keep alive: Generally agreed. Is Jaroslav's function to be another protagonist? Not that that's a problem, having someone who is both guilded and not a horrible person would keep things more interesting.

Obviously, each of us end up taking people in different directions, and as we discussed, plans for characters often fall by the wayside, but to me, at least, Jaroslav serves two functions. The first, as you said, is a secondary protagonist. The Second

I'm not kidding, this could ruin the end for you (if any of us knew what the end was going to be).

Jaroslav is also an important plot point. When Jaroslav was introduced, it was after the death of a Boros guildmage. The agent (possibly Daog) sent a message to Casamir that read "K is dead. Need new catalyst. Recommend J." In the very next paragraph, Jaroslav is introduced by "scarcely notic[ing] the hooded figure that bumped into him." I have therefore been working under the belief that that agent (again, likely Daog) subtly injected something into Jaroslav that will eventually make him a "catalyst" for whatever it is Casamir is up to. Jaroslav is also the one I was thinking of when Casamir told Ardir that although Ardir had Railu, Casamir had "The Other, or will, soon." So to me, anyway, Jaroslav is Casamir's work-around for not having "control" of Railu.

Ok the way you made Casamir act when the golgari made me think that maybe Casamir wants Jakob for something cause he is a giant Zombie thing that is weird... Also I have to say the way I pictured Jakob at the beginning is actually the way he is turning out soooo Yay me!!!

@ Raven: Good enough for me. Didn't read it so I can't say I might not accedentally derail it.

@willhman: Yeah, I was amused by the spoilers, myself. Just one this time

Well, as I've said, I've been working under the assumption that Jaroslav is the "J" Casamir's agent mentioned, but that may end up being a red herring, as Jakob is certainly a "J" as well. That's actually why I write things the way I do, I try to leave certain aspects of the plot as wide open as possible, so that others can use them or discard them as they see fit. @Deaderpool: I have no doubt I've derailed my share of other people's plans, so I have no cause to complain if it happens to me. That's what I like about this process, and I'm not nearly arrogant enough to believe my ideas are the best possible. If you have a plan for a character, or if something seemed to "click" while you're writing, don't feel bad about going with it!
