Torn between Azorius and Izzet at the moment. I'll wait for more cards to be spoiled.

Ignorant guy here. How does the pre-release work and what does picking a guild involve?

At the prerelease, each person will allign themselves with a guild. For whichever guild you pick, you will receive different promotional stuff, as well as slightly different cards to pick from to make your deck. You will receive FIVE RtR boosters (as opposed to the usual six) and your sixth pack will be a guild-themed booster. The contents of this booster are not known, and could have specific cards, or semi-random guild cards, or a combination of both. You'll also receive a promo card relevant to your guild, and a D20, equally relevant. I hope that answers your question.
Favorite set: Arabian Nights Favorite planeswalker: Taysir, the One Made of Five Favorite book cycle: Ice Age Favorite creature type(s): Elephant (W), Minotaur (R), Shade (B), Spider (G), Cephalid (U) Myr (Artifact) Standard: Gruul Control Modern: American Human Tempo; Zombie Tribal EDH: Aboshan, Cephalid EmperorCube: The Moons of Mirrodin

I'm not doubting it, but did they actually confirm that the Spindowns will have guild symbols, or just guild colors, or either of those? I must've missed that bit.

It is also important to note that, for the first time ever, you can use your promo card in your deck. You now know one card will for sure be in your deck, unless your pulls from your five RTR packs have no support or synergy with your promo card and guild pack.

Where did you hear we can use the promo in our deck? I have not heard that before, but that's pretty killer if it's true. It would mean you'll have at least two rares playable, if you go with guild colors. At the AVR prerelease, all six of my rare pulls had no synergy with one another, so I played with a single rare in my deck (Still got 4th =DDD).
I'm not doubting it, but did they actually confirm that the Spindowns will have guild symbols, or just guild colors, or either of those? I must've missed that bit.
They said colors, but I'm really, really, really hoping it will have the guild symbol too. If not, I'll be really dissapointed. There will be thousands of dice with the RtR symbol. But I want one with an Izzet symbol. =o

Wow, that's cool. (I didn't know either, IgnorantGuy) I will probably go Izzet or Golgari. I do have a deck in mind for Corpsejack Menace , but I'm not married to the idea yet. I love the Hypersonic Dragon though!

Probably izzet, because there's a good chance I'll want to splash red for burn spells anyway so my dragon can go in any U/X/r deck, really. Also the dragon is probably the best card of the bunch in both limited and constructed.

Think I'll be choosing Izzet for RtR. I like the color combination and Hypersonic Dragon seems amazing.
For Gatecrash I'm going Gruul, no questions asked.

As pertaining to Gatecrash, I'll definitely be going Orzhov.
