EDH was fun until spikes ruined it. The second well-tuned decks were all over the format became unfun for me. The whole format has turned into; play a bomb, ramp big, play mass removal, draw a bunch of cards, or play some obnoxious combo. If you aren't doing any of those you are losing.
I have to agree, it was fun until then. I remember my first couple EDH decks beating face fairly well with only extra's I had laying around. I wouldn't even think of running that now, and then the spikes are so self-righteous too, it pisses me off.

I don't know why you are blaming Spikes for this. Could be anyone. Spikes live for the challenge of Magic. For kitchen table games there is no challenge if your deck has absurd strength compared to your opponent's. Deck building is a challenge too, but only really in competitive formats where there is a baseline for strength. Also generalizations about poeple are bad ("self-righteous").

It's just a sympton of living in the so-called information age. Anyone can find the best possible cards that fill a certain role (or an entire deck) with a few clicks and keystrokes. So a lot of people are going to take advantage of that. The fact that a few more clicks and keystrokes is enough to purchase said cards and have them sent directly to your mailbox helps, too (or doesn't help depending on how you view it). See also, 'netdecking'.

Blue is op. edh sucks. Casual sucks. Standard sucks. Legacy is too expensive. Vintage is too expensive. Modern sucks. Maro sucks. Delver sucks. White is op. Black is op. Green sucks. Red sucks. Magic is dead.
There, all arguments are over. Carry on.

You are implying all that as a good thing.
It's one thing to own the cards, but when over half your deck is proxy, its time to quit playing magic, this isn't a game for you.

Yes there is over a 100,000 cards in magic. You should be able to find a cheaper solution to any card in the game (with a hand few of exceptions, but most of those are cheap cards anyway).

Griefing is a Timmy behavior, to be honest. (It is an experience, albeit one of sadism.) Us poor Spikes just get blamed for it.

You forgot "If we use _mechanic_, this game will be just like Yugioh."
Clever deduction Watson! Maybe you can explain why Supergirl is trying to kill me.

100,000 cards? I thought it was somewhere around 12500 (I might have an outdated number) As for finding cheaper solutions to cards, I'd really like to know a cheap alternative to FoW, Tarma, power 9, dual lands and ALL those cards I will not bother to name that are unique and are highly priced for a reason (the reason being there's no substitute)
I love trolls Dont hate me because I'm blunt and you cannot handle it
