So um yeah.
I know a lot of you started to hate his ass with a passion because he looked like a slimy little git, and I really can't argue against that. But what always bothered me about him was that his magical talents sound identical to Garruk's.
Could make for an interesting line if they met each other. Say Garruk gets his audience with Avacyn, and she manages to suppress the curse. Having lost Liliana's trail, he goes back to Ravnica to try and start from square one. Garruk can't stand the city, so goes and makes camp in the Rubblebelt, and for whatever contrived coincidence ends up fighting Rade. After dropping Rade like a bad habit, but the fighting triggers the curse again. Fearing he doesn't have the strength to finish Liliana himself, he starts training Rade as a weapon of vengeance. On the other hand, it might come off tacky and trite. Fortunately, chances run from slim to none.

I don't mind him being a jerk, as long as they can write him well.
In hindsight, they've taken Garruk in a different direction than this guy. I'm okay with multiple Planeswalkers coming from a similar mindspace as it helps highlight their differences. In theory, anyway.

Frankly, I don't get the hate.
Sure, he's a brat, but frankly he doesn't seem especially punk or anything. He's just there. It's like hating a rock or any other part of the scenery.
Exactly, it's just like hating Venser.

Domri's life sounds like an RPG. Start character, gain power, use power on designated location to destroy obligatory enemy presence, get rewarded with doctorate by friendly leader. Then sandbox.

... Now I just kind of want to see Sarkhan stumbling around shouting FUS RO DAH at imaginary beasts.

Isn't that pretty much exactly what he spent most of his time on Zendikar doing?

...You know, given the stumbling and babbling at imaginary (???) monsters he was already doing... yeah, this might actually be canonically true.
I think the biggest problem with Domri, Vriaska, and Ral is that they haven't shown particularly strong metanarrative reasons for being Planeswalkers. The addition of the last bit in the player's guide is nice because it does give Domri an actual reason for 'Walkerhood. It reminds me a bit of that moment in The Gunslinger when Jake is falling into the ravine and he says to Roland, "Go then. There are other worlds than these." Domri's wider perspective seems to have given him the confidence to smash Ravnica up, because the consequences just aren't as tangible to him as to people stuck on the plane.
Which, upon reflection, kind of makes him a ticking time bomb. I'm also reminded of another young anarchistically inclined youth who happened to have strong feelings about a certain Arch-Duke...

If Domni Rade assassinated Niv-Mizzet, would he become the most hated Magic character Post-Mending or in [b]Magic[/c] history?

I'm kinda cautious about Domri. We're already calling him Wesley because teenwalker, but I don't think they'd make him also kill a popular character.
Clever deduction Watson! Maybe you can explain why Supergirl is trying to kill me.

Yeah, I doubt Niv Mizzet is going to die anytime soon. He has popularity armor.
