Vanilla is no abilities, French is one or more keyword abilities and nothing else, then you could probably say chocolate or something.

I want to start calling designs Belgian Chocolate now. Although, to be fair, chocolate isn't what I would use to represent multiple keywords meshed together. It's more the "French" that is part of the spinoff though, so I don't think you can use any precedent here to call multikeyword cards anything. If there's any nation that is incredibly flamboyant or busy, then maybe. I don't know where I'm going with this.

OT: I liked that you gave the Spider reach and violated the entire point of your thread.

But that would imply actually reading it at all.
I just saw a few words and assumed a bunch of stuff.

Objectively, I probably do. I usually read what I respond to though.

you can't balance like that. a format is defined by its most powerful cards, not by the average card strength of every card available. if this is around, it doesn't matter how many squire there are, this card will still be stupid with any sort of pump effect. like I said, there was a time, back when extended was Extended, where boros swiftblade saw extensive play, in a deck that ran all five land types just so it could hit the swiftblade with gaea's might . that's how strong cheap double strike is. it's strong enough that people will destroy their mana bases to abuse it.

Has played RUG Blighted Agent / Assault Strobe decks that work like that.

Is Vampire Nighthawk considered a french vanila creature since it only has keywords as it's ability?

Vanilla = no text
French vanilla = any number of keywords
Soviet vanilla = all-downside
Virtual vanilla = no text that applies after your next upkeep
Variable vanilla = no text except to set power, toughness, and mana cost

Maro said somewhere that R&D calls creatures with two keywords double-scoop French vanilla, so I guess Nighthawk is triple-scoop or something.
