Vampire decks like these are all about aggression. You have to attack early and you have to hit hard. The longer the game lasts, the smaller your chances will be. This is also the reason why 1- and 2-drops are so important in decks like these, you have to get rolling as soon as you can and press your opponent into his defense.

So is that a yes to replacing the Marauders with Nighthawks ? Or perhaps I should sideboard the Marauders and foucus on 1-4 mana creatures main deck?

You might replace a Tragic Slip and a Curse of Bloodletting with two Murder s, if you are really afraid of large, powerful creatures. In fact, if you plan on making a side board, cards like that would make excellent side board material.

I was actually thinking about getting some Murder s, but I've run into a few instances with my friends using creatures such as Predator Ooze that can only be removed with a Tragic Slip . Would this be too rare an occurance to worry about, or should I sideboard the Murder s?

A friend of mine tried this deck and it's big strength was the Captains. That first strike allows you to, mostly, storm into their face without trouble. It also allows you to make quite a defensive wall. And yes, Stromkirk Noble is AMAZING. Especially with a Curse of Stalked Prey after him. Also, I think Bloodline Keeper should be a 4 of. It is quite amazing. This all of course depends on your budget.

Budget allowing, I WOULD make him a 4 of. I'll just have to see if I can trade for it or get a decent price at my card shop. Since I also need a 4 of Noble, I'll have to prioritize that.

Have you considered going monored? You're almost all the way there already.

You'd lose Bloodline Keeper and Stromkirk Captain  but you could offset that with Heirs of Stromkirk and maybe some additional burn spells. You could even try to make Bloodcrazed Neonate work with Flames of the Firebrand to clear out early blockers.

As for losing first strike from the captain, Vampiric Fury  would almost be better. First strike is sooo much stronger if they don't see it coming.

Nightbird's Clutches might be worth a look as well as the other "can't block" vampires, Crossway Vampire and Markov Warlord .

If you're really hard up on the budget and just can't get the nobles, you could try Faithless Looting  as a way to improve your hand on turn 1 instead of putting down a creature.
D&D rules were never meant to exist without the presence of a DM. RAW is a lie.

I'm not really wanting to go Mono-Red, but thanks for the advice. Some of the cards on this list I have run before, and didn't work so well. That's why I actually sat down and tried to write out a good decklist, but was having some difficulty so I posted here.

Maybe not all, but yes, focus should be on relatively cheap creatures. This deck lacks ramp and like I wrote earlier, you don't want to give your opponent the chance to ramp up as well.

I would say, use both. They both have their uses, as Tragic Slip is also cheaper than Murder. Use Murder against anything that you can't get rid of through Tragic Slip.

Okay, so here's my latest take:
Spoiler: Show
This list is still tennative based on my budget. If I can't find relitively inexpensive copies of the two possible "leaders," I may go with Havengul Vampire (in my experiance a decent card for the cost). Also, I'll start working on the sideboard soon (some suggestions, such as Murder , will likely go there). Thanks again to everyone for the awesome advice!

The point of sideboard is to be able to alter your deck to deal with things your maindeck can't deal with, disrupt your opponent, or possibly have an alternate win condition.

You should try to get some cheap artifact kill, some things to deal with Oblivion Ring (which I can guarantee you're going to see at FNM) like Ratchet Bomb   or something.  And maybe some graveyard hate like Grafdigger's Cage or Tormod's Crypt to deal with recursion, flashback, and Green Sun's Zenith , Genesis Wave and maybe some board wiping like Bonfire of the Damned or Black Sun's Zenith or something similar to deal with token decks.  I see a lot of decks with red running Combust in sideboard as well.
