Good Lord! I just came back from being out of town for three days to find that Wizards had the audacity to ban me for 24 hours without any prior history of offensive behavior on the forums. My crime? Posting an altogether insincere and harmless message about alternative "scary sleeves" when another forum member said that he/she wanted sleeves so intimidating that they would make opponents "poop their pants" when they hit the table. I didn't curse once; I didn't link to anything, anywhere, NSFW or not; I didn't insult anyone, or in any way, shape, or form, advocate illegal activity. The post was outlandish, sure, but even the most severely mentally handicapped (exceptional? I'd hate to further offend people by using the less-politically-correct term!) moderator would have to admit that it was cartoonish in its excess. Plus, it was funny. I know it was funny because I wouldn't have posted it if it weren't!
Long story short: I've been on the Internet longer than some of the people here have been alive, and I've never seen moderators whose concepts of "offensive" are so Victorian. I'm surprised we're not required to submit visual proof that we're wearing top hats and monocles while we type, and that we always drink with our pinkies up. I understand that Wizards is probably required to fill the lower levels of their ranks with Downs kids in order to meet some kind of Federal quota, but did they have to give them keyboard access on top of it? Someone's going to have to wet-dry vac all the drool out of the things before they rust internally!
Moderator standards here are completely unacceptable. That's the politest way that I can put it. What staggering incompetence! I'll be back in a week, or whatever. Or I'll just start using a proxy browser to visit as I please, notwithstanding another (unjustifiable) ban.
Please, carry on....
To whom it may concern: it's getting really old, being unable to see the top half of anything autocarded in the first post of each thread. Fixplz, kthx.

insulting the people with the power to ban you might not be a good idea
I personally am relatively happy with the moderation here, it's a bit slow at times, and I got some warnings when I posted before I had my morning coffee, but they try hard to do it "by the book"

You have clearly mistaken me for someone who (1) acknowledges their supposed authority, (2) respects their supposed authority, and (3) fears their supposed authority. I've been completely civil with every single poster here since day one. I've contributed to numerous threads and made almost a dozen of my own without managing to [CENSORED] anyone off. I've also seen people warned courteously (albeit mouth-breathingly) by moderators for outright dropping the f-bomb in their posts during that time. What incredible Balance in their Censorship ! Smells suspiciously like either Malicious Intent to me... or is that just the Stench of Evil ? Perhaps the problem is the book they're using to moderate by. I suggest they Tome Scour the Library of Alexandria for something a tad bit less archaic.

usually when you see a moderator warning a person that goes with a warning on their record
anyway, get some coffee and some fresh air before you are banned again

The only thing stopping me from posting something so ungodly offensive here that I actually deserve a permanent ban is the sheer nuisance it would be to have to download and use a separate proxy browser to skirt an IP ban, if they use those here. I don't give a flying [CENSORED] at a rolling donut about what the "moderators" here think of me or my attitude. But until today I've had a fair amount of fun here, and learned a great deal about the game. I'd hate to have to go through all the hassle of clicking a completely separate icon to get back here in the future.

I'm sorry, Dave; I'm afraid I can't do that. For me it's a matter of the underlying principle: I wasn't wrong, ergo I should not have been punished. If I actually did something worthy of being banhammered, this wouldn't be necessary. Trust me—it wouldn't be the first time, and my ego can handle admitting my wrongdoing.

Unfortunately, VCLs do not currently have the tools necessary to take moderation actions directly. VCLs submit their actions to ORCs, who then actually perform the action. This processing can take between a few minutes and several hours, depending on how busy/attentive the ORCs are. If you see something that needs VCL attention, please use this thread (MTGO) or this thread (paper) to make a request and a VCL will look at it as soon as possible. CoC violations should be reported to Customer Service using the "report post" button.
