Does it say on the card that it gets sacrificed when it's targeted? No. So it doesn't.

Jace's Phantasm does not say it does, so it doesn't.  Only a few Illusions do so, and it will be printed on the card if it does.

STEP 2: Get your cousin in the cannon

STEP: 3 Find another cousin

No creature type has special rules attached. The creature has the abilities that are written on it.

Just like some birds don't fly, some illusions are more permanent than others.

Truth be told, most illusions don't have the sacrifice-if-targeted ability.

Phantasmal Dragon and Gossamer Phantasm say you have to sacrifice them when they are targeted. Phantom Warrior , Adarkar Windform , Aura Thief , Glaze Fiend , Somnophore , Jace's Phantasm and over 50 other illusions don't say anything like that, so there's no reason to sacrifice them.

Only 6 of the 73 illusions (8%) have "When ~ becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it."

I found 94 Illusions, so the percentage is lower than that.

Presumably no-one thought this would apply to those Illusions that are also Mutant Ninja Turtles, such as Gelatinous Moose . While your number is technically EDIT: closer to correct (you're long by one, possibly due to double-counting Mistform Ultimus), I think Ikegami has better captured the salient set of creatures.

I had only 72 Illusions...

Anyone knows when Cloud Dragon was changed from Dragon to Illusion Dragon

73 creatures with illusion listed on the typeline

20 creatures with illusion subtype via changeling

I only count 93 illusions.
