Neither.

When a card uses its own name, it really means "this object" and doesn't actually care about the name. For this reason, the Welder will have the ability to make copies of itself - so it'll make 1/4 creatures that can exile artifacts in graveyards and gain their activated abilities, not 1/1s that can copy themselves. However, it does not copy what's imprinted on the original Welder; each copy of the Welder will have its own set of imprinted cards, which will start out empty.

The tokens will be myr welders with nothing imprinted on them. They will have ": Exile target artifact card from a graveyard" and "Myr Welder has all activated abilities of all cards exiled with it", but no other abilities.

It is the same ability word for word, technically, but the copies are still Myr Welder copies and not Myr Propagator copies. When an object refers to itself by name, it only means "this object". Now, unfortunately, the copies do not have all the activated abilities of the original Welder. Those abilities are not part of the Welder's copiable characteristics, which are only what's printed on the card itself. The cards that the original Welder exiled are not cards that the copy exiled, so the copy's second ability does not see them. The copy has to exile cards of its own to gain new activated abilities.

when an object changes zones (in this case from the battlefield to the graveyard) it forgets everything it was before, including what was imprinted on it

the imprinted cards simply stay exiled without belonging to any imprint ability

When an object changes zones, it becomes a new object with no memory of its previous existence in other zones. As such, a Myr Welder in the graveyard has no cards imprinted on it.

It's not as good as you might think. There are single cards that can do for less mana what you would end up doing here, and wouldn't take 4-5 turns just to get set up.

don't link to random shops, use [c] for that

anyway, combo seems good, until someone has Vapor Snag

Imprint is such a weak ability because it almost always leads to card disadvantage unless your opponent is asleep
