So I want The Mimeoplasm to be my commander and want to use birthing pod. I've never made a commander deck so I'm not sure how many creatures, mana, and spells to put in. I started magic when Dark Ascension came out, so I don't have very many cards before that. If somone could help me make a deck from using Dark Ascension to M13 cards that would be great. I also have the Chaos Reigns and the Night of the Ninja Planechase decks.

Do you have the whole EDH deck that the Mimeoplasm came in?

The Mimeoplasm and The Pod just strikes me as an odd pairing. Mimeo is more of a reanimator type of deck, and instead of a nice curve of creatures, which you need to Pod successfully, you want lots of big and / or powerful creatures and ways to get them in your graveyard quickly. If you can get some Innistrad, it has a lot of good cards for a self-mill deck, like Splinterfright , Spider Spawning , and Kessig Cagebreakers . Increasing Confusion and Chill of Foreboding are a couple good mill cards from DA.

If you can purchase singles from other sets, Life from the Loam (Ravnica) is a must-include for this type of deck. Traumatize , usually played on your own library, is very good. Mindcrank from Mirroden Besieged and Trepanation Blade from Innistrad are nice.

Some things to watch out for are your opponents playing stuff that completely hoses your deck. Artifact and enchantment removal is essential to counter cards like Grafdigger's Cage and Leyline of the Void . Other cards like Tormod's Crypt , which was just reprinted and therefore easy to acquire, and Nihil Spellbomb which is also recent, are more difficult to deal with... you need countermagic to prevent them from being played, or a way to recycle your graveyard before it can be exiled, like Quest for Ancient Secrets or Elixir of Immortality .

Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, and Nihil Spellbomb can be taken care of with Bind .  People rarely expect ability counters.  Voidslime is more generally useful, though you lose the cantrip.

I don't think Birthing Pod is a bad idea, it is however a bit unusual as Grishny said. It's going to be really important to have multiple 1, 2 and 3 drops. After that it's really going to depend on how big of a threat you paint yourself as.

Well I have some cards from Innistrad. Should I even try to make the deck with Birthing Pod ? So to make a commander deck with The Mimeoplasm I should get cards to mill myself so I can use his effect?

If you can I would get mesmeric orb it mills out everyone fast and you get lots of good targets to use mr. mime on. For the 1-3 drops get things like tracker that you wish where larger and can use there abilltys of.
