A creature with lifelink attacks, the opponent blocks and then casts Cloudshift on his blocking creature. Is the creature considered blocked without damage being dealt (and triggering lifelink)?

The attacking creature is still blocked, even though it's no longer blocked by anything in particular. It won't deal combat damage (unless it has Trample or a similar ability ) and therefore Lifelink won't do anything (with the same proviso).

Note that Lifelink is no longer a Triggered ability (since M10).

That makes no sense to me.
If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed?

Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch . YAY COLOR IDENTITY
Is algebra really that difficult?
Survey says yes.
You want to make a milky drink. You squeeze a cow.
I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

510.1d A blocking creature assigns combat damage to the creatures it’s blocking. If it isn’t currently blocking any creatures (if, for example, they were destroyed or removed from combat), it assigns no combat damage...
«Dystocracy : A system of government in which corrupt leadership colludes with dishonest bankers and greedy elites in order to ensure that productive members of society –people who actually do useful work- bear the greatest share of taxes while gaining the least benefit possible.»
Sounds familiar?

So if it had trample and was blocked by a 2/2 that was cloudshifted, and the attacking creature was 4/4, 2 damage would still carry over?
Also, after the blocking creature is cloudshifted, can it block another creature? I think someone mentioned a rule about blocking with a creature only once per turn?

4 damage
702.18c If an attacking creature with trample is blocked, but there are no creatures blocking it when damage is assigned, all its damage is assigned to the player or planeswalker it's attacking.
Also, after the blocking creature is cloudshifted, can it block another creature?
No, the declaration of blockers is finished; new creatures can not be declared as blockers.
No, I am not a judge. That's why I like to quote sources such as the rules that trump judges.
