Yeah, I like this guy, I'm visualizing a nice undying control/aggro that will be set up with him. So is my brother
Decks I run

Spoiler: Show

I currently run a deck for Standard, Modern, Commander and Legacy.
For standard, I have a typical, horribly budget Rakdos Deck Wins.
For Modern, I have a very lovable mono-green, resistant to removal type of deck.
For Legacy, I'm trying too hard to break Pyromancer Ascension .
For Commander/EDH, I'm running The Mimeoplasm .
A little morals thing about me, I like winning through combos, but not infinitely.

However quiet, I am a Christian, so feel free to tell me you are too, it's always a relief.

Cheers!

Look at the bottom:
Copyright is 1993-2012 and there's LLC after Wizards of the Coast.

Maybe, just maybe, this is evidence that the Rootborn Defenses card is still a fake?

I'm just sayin'

Isn't this from the duel decks though? And doesn't the duel deck come out first? Any change in the format would wait until the actual expansion is released.

Yup, this is correct - the version we're seeing spoilt is the one being printed in Duel Decks: Izzet vs. Golgari. That's the expansion symbol shown on the card. The RtR one will likely be packing the same copyright line as Rootborn Defenses.

It was aweful in standard when it was in it almost broke older formats but it is a mater of perspective

Dredge was actually pretty good in standard just before rotation. It had everything it needed, dredgers , Narcomoeba , Bridge from Below , Dread Return , and Flame-Kin Zealot . All it was really missing was a great discard outlet for the first few turns. I'm sure if we could go back to that time with current knowledge of how powerful dredge can be, the deck would be even more powerful.

The fact that you have to sac 'another' creature probably renders this Commander-only playable.

Why? There are plenty of sac-decks that can use this as another accelerator. I could think of an interesting combo with Gravecrawler . Besides, it could also be interesting to sac one of your attackers when it gets chomped down by an opponent's blockers.

I wish he wouldn't just grow from creatures. This way he would be more and more powerful after every resurrection.
Maybe that would be too much, but awesome flavorwise imho.

Backing and forthing on the copyright info does seem off to me, why use new copyright info for the IDW card then go back for the Duel Decks and then back? forward? for RTR...

Which leads me to this conclusion: the IDW card has new copyright info for the same reasons Kaijudo cards do; there's more than 1 company involved (hence no LLC), and they're both related to something that either started this year or last year (hence no 1993).

So this brings me back round to thinking Rootborn Defence may well be a fake...

Undecided

seeing that they weren't printed in the same set really no merit there...rootborn is real love it or hate it. does anyone have previous comic card promo's to compare llc's? im 90% sure they had 1993 included as well? arrest would be the first to feature the same set up as rootborn...either way we will know within 2-3 weeks if not less.

Yeah just double checked the old cards and they featured LLC & 1993. I retract my previous comments, I still find it weird that they wouldn't use the updated format for the Duel Decks...

Yeah, that seems most likely. But what with the Arrest coming out almost 2 months earlier than the Duel Deck even with the much smaller print run I'd have assumed they'd be locked in at roughly the same time for shipping etc, but evidently the IDW cards just have a much faster turnover than I'd expected.

(And yes, yes they are)
