Its still strong enough to be worth 10-15. Yeva is in a into deck and the foils are still worth 8.

Not disagreeing on that point, but I would expect it to drop over time.

And Wynzer, I just have to disagree with your assessment. Bonfires might drop below their 40 dollar mark they are at currently, but you have to keep in mind that AVR wasn't opened nearly as much as other sets were (it was a highly unpopular draft format)

The problem with assessing Bonfire's worth is the format it has been in. It's arguably one of the strongest Fireball s ever, but it only outright wins games that hinge on sticking weenie creatures (because it's Wrath, and a one sided one at that), It's value is trememdously bloated, and now isn't the time to obtain your playset if you missed them on the way in. Also, if RtR isn't as heavily a "creature block" as Innistrad and it effects constructed decks, Bonfire will lose quite a bit of it's game ending power. Point being that Bonfire is a card, and one to consider, but our Bonfire format is likely a wash that will slow down in October.

One good Pro Red creature and watch the format spin around quickly. It'll probably be white (but it'd be fantastic if it wasn't... hint hint).

Otherwise.... yeah don't swarm the board with dudes and you'll find bonfire is a lot more fair of a card.

I love Phy Crusader. He's legit. He'd be so awesome if he didn't have infect and was a 3/3 instead.

That said, I'm ok with him having infect since he's so hard to answer. Pretty much a sure thing.

Turns out, he hasn't turned the format on it's head. Nor has Vulshock Refugee. And Sword of War and Peace hasn't stopped Bonfire decks.
The only way that we won't be seeing a return of Bonefire in RTR standard is if Wizards works purposefully to make cards that are good against it, and a lot of the cards that are good against Bonfire aren't going to be things you generally want to play in constructed.
Also, Thragtusk goes in Bonfire decks.

Let's do that syllogism thing.

Bonfire is absurd in creature decks.  ISD was full of incredibly efficient creatures, overpowered disruption hosers, and actually, no good disruption anyway.  Therefore, standard will continue to feature creature decks supported by their hysterically powerful one-sided board clear.  Barring, of course, something whacked out happening in RTR, like the printing of a colorless three mana exile wrath.

And hey, if they do the shocklands, we'll probably also get to deal with Delver decks running Bonfire.  Hoorah, hooray.  I love standard.  It's diverse!  No, wait, that's right, it's narrow as balls.  We have three different creature slam decks and a bunch of durdly also-rans that don't work.

Welcome to 2012.  Blue has the most efficient creatures, black has the all-in monocolored aggro deck, the most controlling deck in the format is green-red, control decks lose to aggro in attrition wars, and counterspells aren't an answer to fatties.

I said good. A 2/2 pro red body on the ground is merely ok.

Give me a pro red with a serious clock and we're in business. Something that can get into it with a resto angel and/or a thragtusk for value.

I think I want to play a redirect card, if I even bother with standard until rotation.

Is it bad that I enjoyed Caw-Blade standard more than this one?
