About the PAX Prime news, might want to say which day the MTG Creative Panel is -- it's Sunday, 9/3.

$75 seems kinda steep for commander's aresenal. There are gonna have to be some really awesome cards in there. ANd for teh record that last pictuer looks like a new command tower to me.

Ugh. That's hideous. If it were $30 I might buy it, but $75? Are they actually serious about selling this? Sylvan Library is a good start, but with only 18 real cards in the product I can't see many people being terribly interested unless all of the involved cards are very very good.
Still, I'm thinking this is going to sell worse than the Premium Decks do. I can't imagine stores having an easy time moving this. I suppose the same people who buy From The Vault may pick these up though.

Wow. That's just awful. Cool counters and dice? Sure. $75 for sleeves and a few shiny cards? Not so much.

Dear Wizards,
Oversized cards are the laughing stock of the Magic product line. Please stop pushing them... we don't use them except for Archenemy/Planechase schemes/phenomena/planes
Signed, Pretty much everyone who bought the Commander products
In a less blunt method... the sleeves are okay (My last two packs of UltraPro sleeves SHRED themselves within 2 months, not a good omen for use in Commander), the dice/counters are okay, but the oversized cards are just pathetic. If I wasn't a hoarder I'd have thrown my away. The new foil regulation sized cards are freakin brilliant and completely will sell this product despite the downside of having to throw away 10 oversized Premium cards.
Here's hoping the rest of the legal to use cards are MTGO Cube alternate arts for Basalt Monolith, Future Sight..... Old Man of the Sea?!
Finally, to the people complaining about the price. Seriously? Have you seen the MSRP Wizards has issued for each From the Vault set? Zero of them sell for that $34.99 MSRP. The duel decks are even less close (Ajani vs Nicol Bolas probably the closest to MSRP/reasonable price). This is a more realistic price for the product, and you know for a fact retailers will be selling these for $120 a pop.

The real question is do I want to spend 80 dollars on a format that I don't play, just to get a neato life counter?

I have to say, I also am not at all excited to see oversized (read: nearly unusable) legends in the product. For one, you HAVE to use them as your commander. Not being able to use that Azusa or any of the other legends IN my deck is a huge blow to the chances I buy this. Oversized cards (apart from planes and schemes) aren't even cool on the playing field. They just take up too much space and make aranging the board just a bit frustrating. Plus, what happens when someone plays a Hallowed Burial, or Oblation, or Terminus? Very, very bad move to have the oversized cards UNLESS they also have regular versions in there. But then, that means we're only getting 18 cards instead of 28.
Meh.

The difference is that From The Vault is supposed to be the ultra-expensive elite set of cards. And they end up at approximately the price they're worth. Starting at $75 is pretty ambitious for Wizards, especially considering the relatively limited pool of interest for the product.
And I've found that getting a Duel Deck for $20 is very easy as long as you do it within a few months of release. They eventually end up skyrocketing in price, but only after most of them have sold out.
