Seems like it would be a good engine for the right deck. I've been trying to get cute with it in a U/B/g Zombies build, but it's not consistent enough. I think that trying to cheat something into play is better done with Unburial Rites and the like. However, I like the potential of getting a free draw and a free creature in a very creature-heavy build (maybe Naya Humans). Has anybody had any experience or success with the card? Or is it just worse than Birthing Pod? For reference, Descendants' Path

It's 100% worse than Birthing Pod. But I think we already know that. Pod is at your command for any creature up a versatile chain. It's broad, easy to build around, and encourages value creature play, which is what we've been fed for Standard for the last year. Descendant's Path is substantially narrower while also being theoretically random. There are additional trivia that contribute; Pod cheats around 'casting' creautures, Path doesn't; with Path you have to play tribal, which is nigh-undoable, etc. It's fringe abusable, but I've been relegating it to the bulk rare category. Don't see where it's doing you any favors that a) you need; b) Pod wouldn't do better.
Welcome to 2012. Blue has the most efficient creatures, black has the all-in monocolored aggro deck, the most controlling deck in the format is green-red, control decks lose to aggro in attrition wars, and counterspells aren't an answer to fatties.
Pack Rat is like Bitterblossom and Tarmogoyf had a black baby.

Its definitely something I would look into once rotation happens but like others have said birthing pod is just better for the kind of deck this wants to be in... although if I were to play it at all it would be in humans. Problem with it though is that you might be hitting dead for a few turns and then you just played a 3 drop that did nothing...

Its a do-nothing enchantment on turn 3. To get any value out of it, you have to have
a) a tribe b) dudes with value or c) expensive dudes to cheat in
If I have value guys, its going to be ones that I want to cast at specific times. Revealing a Fiend Hunter when your opponent doesn't have a significant threat on the board sucks, since you now have to ship him to the bottom of your library. This also encourages you to waste good ETB triggers, like Village bell ringer (or something).
If you have expensive dudes to cheat in with it, then you are just as likely to draw your expensive dudes and have them rot in your hand.
No sir, I don't like it.

I think something like this would be the best way to abuse it. I tried it out with Mwonvuli Beast Tracker and Chronomaton , but it was just really clunky. Shape Anew does the same thing but better.
