Overburden

Does this only trigger off of effects like Mayael the Anima , or does it trigger off of all creatures when they cast and resolve?

It triggers whenever a nontoken creature enters the battlefield for any reason.

Wow, so oddly worded, especially when "put into play" effects are so specific. Alright then.

Creature spells you cast are "put into play" from the stack when they resolve.

Also, you should use the Oracle text for the card, which reads:



Whenever a player puts a nontoken creature onto the battlefield, that player returns a land he or she controls to its owner's hand.

Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.
