Sice the Rakdos cult is all thrill-killers, how about something like
Blood Frenzy If your life total is 10 or less x happens
IE, a creature can get a power boost, and a kill spell can get a copy.
They said all new, but could something like this (the reverse of zendikar vamps) be considered new? Just wondering.
You know I could actually see that being the Gruul ability. Or at least, I would like to see them get something along those lines. Because according to Wizards (you can read it just about everywhere), one of Gruul's major themes is revenge. So how about:
Revenge (or Bloodrage, Berserking, etc.) As long as you have 10 or less life, _____
When the gruul are bleeding out, they become enraged with a primal fury. It's like "You'll pay for that! Berserk time!". Some of the effects that could happen while you're this low could be like "This creature's (base) power and toughness are doubled" or "this creature can ping for its power" or it gets double strike or something. The effects would have to be good because 10 is halfway into the game.
I really like some of the other Gruul suggestions though, as long as they're creature-oriented. Izzet should have burn-related stuff, not Gruul. is the most physical color combo in the game and its effects should be physical. Bloodthirst was way to burn-ish for my tastes and I think Gruul should have more focus on its actual creatures this time around.

Revenge If ~ was dealt damage this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on it at the beginning of your end step.

It might seem a grand for common flavourwise, but I don't see the objection mechanically. Maybe I just need a better name.

Sacrificing all other creatures you control doesn't seem like an effect they would do in masse at common.

Yes.

Naturally. But I'm not arguing that, I'm arguing that the effect, to me, does not seem like something they would do at common. "Sacrifice all other creatures you control" is not a line of text I expect to see on one card at common, much less more than one in the same set.

I'll add some extra reasons against Deify, to help Thoctar out.
1. It's a severe downside mechanic, one that will turn a lot of players off. "Sacrifice each other creature you control" is just horrible to read. They tend to avoid those these days. 2. Divinity counters are a separate mechanic, and they don't like to nest mechanics like that. 3. It doesn't fit the Orzhov at all, flavorfully. They're not about gods in any way, other than their pseudo-religion posturing. And they're the guild that's ruled by a COUNCIL, rather than an individual, so it doesn't even fit for the members who DO strive to rise to the highest position of power... 4. "Sacrifice everything else" doesn't feel White, just Black. Purely Black. This makes it a terrible fit for a White/Black mechanic. 5. It just plain doesn't look fun.

I'm too excited to wait for PW's guide-Rakdos, but since there is the whole "synergizes with old ravnica keyword" thing, I'm speculating that the Rakdos keyword has something to do with discard, either as a static effect whenever it happens, like hellbent, or as an activated effect with discard being part of the cost.
