here's an idea. On xbox while in a game, when a player tries to activate an ability when they're not able to (e.g. when another player is making a decision on something), don't have a text box pop up that needs to be exited out of with the push of a correct button.
It's really frustrating when you're ready to play an ability in the end step or something but you press the button a split second early and the game pops up with a text box telling you that you can't perform the action because "it's not your turn" (or whatever it says), at the same time disabling all your controls while the timer ticks down. If you're lucky you can close the text box in time, but it shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

I made a thread on this, its a simpler way of searching through libraries with Tutor/Bribery type cards. Thread: http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75842/29367445/Wizards_Sean._A_idea_on_using_Tutor_cards__not_using_up_timer
Before a player casts a:
Tutor spell Bribery spell Or lilianas card that goes through a deck to exile cards.
They usually have an idea of what they want to take or exile. A faster more efficient way to cycle through libraries:
How about, after casting any of these type of spells. A window pops up:
You get "tabbed" categories of: Mana / Spell / Creature. Use the "right & left" bumpers to quickly navigate to desired category. Once you reach your catergory, click "A" button, Right Trigger, Left Trigger (whatever button) to "enter" the catergory.
Once category is selected a new window pops up displaying the cards within that category neatly by lowest to highest cost value - or however you guys feel more conveniently displays them.
For Tutor & Bribery type spells that only pick out "one card" from the library. Instead of showing all 4 cards of each type just show one (with a little badged number on its upper right letting us know how many more cards of that kind are left in that deck) This quickly allows us to tutor or bribe the card while "simultaneously" giving us the info on how many of those that player is still holding in his/her deck.
*SIDE NOTE* The badge with the number on the upper right idea I got from my iPhone apps when they display in fat red numbers how many missed calls or text I haven't looked at)
Of course if liliana's exile spell has been casted or any exile type of spell that digs through a library and plucks out more than one card - then yes show all four cards in case player chooses to exile all 4 of them.
There you are... Quick, fast, go about your business. Just a thought.

well in some cases you do need to give some feedback to a user instead of just not doing anything. (this is the programmer in me speaking here.)
I think the simpler problem is that it cuts off the ability to pause the timer. That should always be available.

Let me propose perhaps a simpler idea with fewer changes to the screen layout...
We have the ability now to change mana selection with the L3 button. Can we apply that here?
Sort the library by the same options we have on sorting our hand: by cost, by type, by color, etc. Use the L3 button to cycle through those different sortings.

There's already a bullet poin above about the description text for abilities. Where it says "choose one card" could be a lot clearer. I think they also need to explain the number of effects. For example, Mirer's Toll says "choose a card to reveal". It should say "choose card # to reveal (of ##)", so "choose card 2 of 5" then "choose 3 of 5". so you know what's going on, instead of trying to count how many tapped swamps they have there. Likewise for other multiple targets, like choosing what to sacrifice to Din of the Fireherd . "Choose a creature to sacrifice (1 of 3)" or something like that.

and it's not realy a new issue by far (it's on the list) but the new Collective Might deck is driving me ABSOLUTELY INSANE with the terrible combat assignment system we've been coping with for three editions of the game. I don't mind throwing all my tokens at an opponent, but I would want to keep my one Jade Mage out of combat. Well that means "left past the jade mage, assign, left past the jade mage, assign, repeat for 10 more tokens".

I doubt this would ever happen, but I wish they would distingish between online games and AI games and bring back many features that have been removed. I am unable to play online and miss some fun aspects of the game. Below is a list of features from previous games I would love to see back in for AI games. (Mainly local 2HG.)
- Allow the same decks in 2HG. Both for players and for AI. I miss playing against 2 of the same deck. - Allow Decks with all the cards (no 100 card limit). Sometimes it's fun to see what combos end up happening when playing with all the cards. - SHOW the life totals at the end of the match. It felt satisfying to send a final massive attack and watch as the AI's life went to -200. Or just to see how close the match was after a final assault. (Not sure why this was removed unless it was because people would extend online games just to see huge numbers.) - Allow Zoom of cards for both players in local 2HG. I believe this feature was in 2009 and got lost along the way. It was much quicker and less boring when both players could zoom in on their hands at the same time.
I think I saw this mentioned already, but an attack all on consoles would be great. I had a PS3 game with 200 tokens and it wasn't fun to have to click attack 200 times. I also had combat animations on which also took a long time. A solution could also be to count all tokens in a group as 1 with the option to withdraw a couple from an attack. So I click once to attack with 100 tokens and can withdraw 1 or 2 from the group as needed. Same for combat animations on 100 tokens.
Thanks.

@crb: You know, you could simply mash the button to assign all your dudes as attackers, and then unassign your Jade Mage (or whatever else you don't want attacking).

There's a button to to assign all creatures to attack? I find it annoying to manually tap, tap or drag, drag if I just want an all-out assault (iPad).

No there isn't sadly, but almost everyone has been asking for one for a while now. Hopefully soon!
