I am trying to design a deck based on Thragtusk and flickering effect, and win with creatures, or a big one combined with Rancor . Here is the deck:

8 x Forest
8 x Plains
4 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Razorverge Thicket

4 x Birds of Paradise
4 x Elvish Visionary
2 x War Priest of Thune
4 x Blade Splicer
4 x Restoration Angel
4 x Thragtusk
2 x Acidic Slime

3 x Righteous Blow
4 x Rancor
3 x Oblivion Ring
2 x Cloudshift

It could use some help, please give inputs...

Firstly, I'd like to point you to my take on a similar concept:

community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...

Looking at your deck, I'm interested in how this really is a 'flicker' since between Cloudshift and Restoration Angel you only have 6 'flickers' and 16 creatures with ETB effects.

So some things that I've picked up and had discussion about in general:

Righteous Blow I've found underwhelming, maybe a meta issue but unless you're getting it early there's not much value in it. Thragtusk and the Angel are good enough blockers later. It's very rare that you'll want to top deck a Righteous Blow after turn 4/5.

is a sideboard card for me. You'd probably get more joy out of Stonehorn Dignitary or Fiend Hunter .

I like Evolving Wilds as it helps me thin my deck and since you're playing green Rampant Growth is nice option for Ramp and thinning your deck. You have several high mana-costing creatures so the ramp is quiet useful.

Next, Thragtusk and Acidic Slime these are 5 CMC creatures. You don't really want to be seeing these too early on since you have to wait to cast. I would drop to 3 of each so that you have a good chance of drawing one a game but not ending up with a hand full of creatures waiting for you to get mana out.

Roaring Primadox could work well in this deck to help you flicker.

Another card I'm not sure of, but you can see how you feel is Garruk's Packleader , this gives you additional card draw everytime you flick a Thragtusk or play your Angel. This is a 2-of card, you don't necessarily need it every game.

Lastly, Phyrexian Metamorph would work in this deck since it allows you to copy an effect that's on your board and you may be able to cast without paying the life with the Birds, but even without its ok because of the Phyrexian mana cost.

I've checked your Bant version of the build. I think it's interesting. Meanwhile, in my perspective, I tried to make flicker a secondary trait, while the main strategy is still outright aggro. That's why I didn't put that many flicker effects in the deck. I tried maxing Cloudshift s, but that prove to be prone of bad beginning hands, when you draw multiples of them in the early game. Roaring Primadox is having good synergy, but I already have the Angel on that spot, so I'll stick with her for now.

Righteous Blow is used to fight Delver, it's doing fine at the moment. But I will switch one of them with Cloudshift . I've got enough cards with ETB effects anyway.

You got a point about the ramp, but I will adjust it differently. At the moment, I don't have problem with my land drops. Moreover, Elvish Visionary is truly shines in this deck, it also getting land when I need it. The Birds are enough to be used early game, and can nick some damage when paired with Rancor . I will also modify the creature curve, so it leans more to a lower average CMC. Ramp spells feel a bit too passive in a good stuff build. Fiend Hunter is nice, but I hesitate about the mana cost.

Phyrexian Metamorph is a splendid idea. I'll splash Blue just for it and for Evolving Wilds , the deck thinner.

The modified list goes like this:

7 x Forest
6 x Plains
1 x Island
2 x Evolving Wilds
4 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Razorverge Thicket

4 x Birds of Paradise
4 x Elvish Visionary
3 x Blade Splicer
4 x Phyrexian Metamorph
4 x Restoration Angel
3 x Thragtusk
2 x Acidic Slime

4 x Rancor
2 x Righteous Blow
3 x Cloudshift
3 x Oblivion Ring

Thanks for the suggestions!

Other cards you may want to think about:

Gitaxian Probe
Dismember - I'd play this over the Righteous Blow - yes its 4 life (without the Birds) but it allows you to drop bigger creatures.

Dismember is on the sideboard, currently. Well, the meta here is dominated by low toughness creatures, so Righteous Blow works fine. Meanwhile, the bigger creatures can be held by Oblivion Ring , so right now it's the fitting combination.
