If it comes out as the summer multiplayer product, I don't care. Because nobody at my store will play it, just like nobody plays Planechase. They all play Commander.
The un-sets are funny and all, but I don't want to see another one. Any time spent designing a new un-set is time that is spent designing cards that won't be played regularily. Only the most casual of casual groups seem to allow un-cards and I for one don't think WotC should use their resources to cater to that small group when there are problems in Magic that could be fixed with the right set.
If they could release sets without doing any work at all, then I'd support another un-set.
If they fixed some of the larger issues in Magic first (mostly the lack of support for some formats), then I'd support another un-set.
I might suggest we make one on YMTC: Magic Unscrewed.
@Escef: Love the Mike Long one! But you forgot to give it the ability "Whenever your opponent makes a play, say 'ah-ah-ah, another mistake' or sacrifice ~." He was not just a cheat, he was also a griefer. And encouraged it.
From Mike Long I learned to always ask the combo player to "go through the motions".
I'm not sure if an online-only product is worth designing a whole set's worth of new cards for.
Online Magic has a whole bunch more design space. The only game that actually really tapped it was Shandalar, though. Because we like paper Magic more.
Having some unsets in the 1st place is a bad idea.
Not really. Magic can self-parody. Players have been parodying Magic since 1994, when meta-mechanics ("cosine of angle of tap matters", for instance) were standard for these parody sets.
Consider this to be like when Milhouse tries to start a meme on Simpsons: recognizing an extant meme.
