This thread is for discussion of this week's Sealed Deck Builder, which goes live Thursday morning on magicthegathering.com. This is both the last week of Avacyn Restored Sealed Pools (next week is going to be M13!), as well as the last week that I will be working at WotC. I'm leaving on good terms and it's been a blast working here, but it's time to persue my personal passion of video game design while doing some freelancing. if you know of a Seattle area game studio looking for a jr level designer, let me know! So to mark both of these ends this week, this is a special pool. Pretend you're the luckiest guy or gal at your event, and all six boosters you opened have a Mythic Rare card inside! Have fun -Garret

I could easily change one of these colours to black, but this is what I decided on in the end: This Deck was built in 0:12:07Total Deck Size: 4018 Lands --------------- 10 Forest 8 Plains 14 Creatures --------------- 1 Angelic Wall 1 Avacyn, Angel of Hope 2 Borderland Ranger 1 Craterhoof Behemoth 1 Devout Chaplain 1 Moonlight Geist 2 Pathbreaker Wurm 2 Thraben Valiant 1 Trusted Forcemage 2 Vorstclaw 8 Other Spells --------------- 1 Abundant Growth 1 Cloudshift 1 Defang 2 Righteous Blow 1 Terrifying Presence 2 Triumph of Ferocity

I went with RW, even though the late game bombs and early game aggro threats seem to be divergent strategies. Why? Because Gisela = win. And if you are playing Gisela, it would be insane not to play Avacyn. That leaves... a bunch of very aggressive early drops. No matter, let them use their removal and trade creatures until I get to my bombs. I did not, however, run Tibalt to start though I'd consider boarding him in against a slow deck. The alternative was a hyperaggressive black-red deck for which I would have Tibalt in the opening build. Suicide Aggro Spoiler:

A third option I suppose would be Green/x. The green here suffers from no playable 1 or 2 drops, which is also blue's issue, so Green/blue would probably get rolled by a fast opposing deck with even moderate removal. The best pairing seems to be white or red, and I chose white simply because the mana seemed better for Gisela. Stompy Spoiler:

Hmm I left out all the bombs and ended up with a 4-color deck including Tamiyo. Dunno if that could stand a chance but Borderland Rangers and Abundant Growth should fix the mana base pretty good. This Deck was built in 0:08:06Total Deck Size: 4017 Lands --------------- 5 Forest 2 Island 5 Mountain 5 Swamp 16 Creatures --------------- 2 Blood Artist 2 Borderland Ranger 1 Driver of the Dead 2 Elgaud Shieldmate 1 Fervent Cathar 1 Heirs of Stromkirk 1 Kruin Striker 2 Pathbreaker Wurm 1 Polluted Dead 1 Renegade Demon 1 Trusted Forcemage 1 Undead Executioner 6 Other Spells --------------- 1 Abundant Growth 1 Amass the Components 1 Essence Harvest 1 Thunderbolt 2 Thunderous Wrath 1 Planeswalkers --------------- 1 Tamiyo, the Moon Sage
