that doesn't matter when it enters the battlefield it has "enchant creature", that's when it gets attached
Why are looking at the Aura in the graveyard for the Painter's Servant scenario but looking at the Aura as it would exist on the battlefield for the Yixlid Jailer scenario?
Because Painter's Servant also modifies it on the battlefield. Yixlid Jailer does not.
The aura only attaches to something when it's on the battlefield, and it has the ability to do so for the entirety of the time it's there.

Yixlid Jailer is on the battlefield, and I cast Open the Vaults . Can I attach Divine Favor to White Knight ?
2. sure, Divine Favor is white, White Knight has protection from black
I don't think so. In the Grave, it's an Aura without any «enchant X» ability, because of Yixlid. It can't leave the Grave, because, as it is, it can't enchant anything.
Nate's O.R. makes it clear: we must consider the Aura in the zone it comes from, and compare it with the object it intends to enchant.

I was talking more about how the discussion felt, TBH. Although they do both feature the concept of... what was it called? the "binary nature" of the rules? (Goes from A->B without being anything else in between)
How about «discontinuous»? (I also thought about «quantic»...)

don't butcher my quote :p
but I get your point. with the Jailer no Aura can leave the graveyard, because of 303.4g no Enchant ability means no valid "targets"

I got more of a "try it and see if it works, then work with it from there" vibe from the ruling.
I can see the argument for it not attaching, though. If it can't attach as is, then we don't even throw it at it to see if it sticks.

I believe the term to use here is discrete nature
