My only problem with goblins is that if you don't get a decent hand you're really, really screwed, and screwed right away. With other decks it's less of a problem because you don't have to rush down the enemy, so you get some time to turn your bad hand into a better one-- but goblins focuses on the rushdown and if the opponent gets time to build some defense it becomes really difficult to win.
It's all about mulligan. Playing goblins feel free to do aggressive mulligans until you get decent hand - my personal record is mulligan to 4 and then win on fourth turn. Of course you need consistent sligh-type build.
I have a problem with Chandra. It's probably my favorite deck yet it's the one I lose the most with it... I have to rethink the way it works. Aggresive burning to the face and running out of fuel after a few turns is definitely not the way to go.
So, you answered it yourself. Don't burn your oponent unless you have furnace or sulfurus on board - just wait and see what your opponent is doing and play your answers. When you finally get titan or hostility you can prepare to finish the duel.

I have the Voracious Dragon in there to break stalls as well, though in Dragon's case breaking a stall means flinging a bunch of direct damage at your opponent to end the game versus the Arms Dealer 's ability of flinging useless goblins to get rid of troublesome x/4s. It's mostly just a personal preference/experience thing. Both are pretty bad on empty boards, but at least the dragon is still a 4/4 flyer (for 2 mana more, yes), than a 3 mana 1/1.
This, 100%. I recently started playing GG quite intensively and in my experience this (or an unchecked / hasted Krenko) is the answer you need if you are not in a winning position by T5. Is it going to produce the majority of your wins? No. Will it allow you to 1-shot your opponent for 10, 15, 20, 30 etc. when you are fully stalled against mirror match, Odric, Silent Arbiter , Phyrexian Obliterator etc. Yes.

I have to agree with Mobius' tier list. I do rate GG higher than OD overall though, I think it has no bad matchups whereas OD has bad matchups vs Blue. OD is still clearly better overall than every deck other than GG. Exalted and Jace are certainly bottom tier. Thornbloom's post re: GG is completely accurate, you can afford to mulligan to five or six reliably with an aggressive decklist like I run with maybe 5-6 cards that cost more than 3 mana each. My one nitpick would be about airforce Talrand. I think it depends on WHICH airforce build you use. I ran an airforce build with 2 skywinders, 2 favorable winds, 1 keep watch and 1 curiousity in lieu of the 2 kraken hatchling, call to mind, twincast, and 2 archaeomancer. I found it to be very comparable to the slower build overall. The build I used is a slightly modified version of the one posted by WingspanTT: see www.toptiertactics.com/14308/crosswinds-...I think running all 3 skywinders and arm with aether is a mistake, and substituted them with two rites. Rite is just too versatile not to run at least two of. I still run all 4 invocations and gravitational shift even in my control build. I would rate either of the Talrand builds near the bottom of the "everything else" tier to be honest so this is a minor quibble.

I love Crosswinds in theory, but in practice my win % with it is dismal. Is anyone have success with this deck at the moment, either via the aggro-airforce route or otherwise? I want to make it work but absent a perfect draw I am getting no here atm...

In our little Xbox tourney, Crosswinds is currently 3 - 2 (I don't know how many of those were air-beats versions though...mine wasn't, and I slightly modified my build a little specifically for the 3 deck tourney format).
I'm happy with it. The only times I have a miserable time using it is when I'm matched up against Goblins (and honestly, I always feel miserable playing against that deck), and Peacekeepers. Against the other 8 current decks, regardless of their configuration, I feel confident.
I wish I could offer better advice Thornbloom. Without being able to watch you pilot it, it's hard to help. Sowwie.

Interesting. Thanks. I'll run it some more this weekend and come back with questions / comments.

@Thornbloom: What are your problems, what's your deck list and what decks do you face? My control-CW works fine, I'm around 70% wins with the deck. Gobbo and DP match-up are a little bit difficult, but definitely manageable as long as Piledriver isn't around. Starting hand and tempo are important IMO. You need your fifth land turn 5-7 (so no 2 land hand without Sleight of Hand) and you need some stuff to delay the opponent until then. Every combination of Hatchling/Fog Bank, Azure Mage, Bounce or Mana Leak does fine, but you should play at least 2 of those spells turns 1-4. Invocation comes late on turn 4, but helps a lot to stabilize. If you're not on the fence of losing when land drop five hits you should be fine.

I have had a lot of success with Talrand after promos I'm 46 wins and 11 losses. My list is more like a combo deck.
3 slight of hand 2 azure mage 3 fog bank 2 disperse 2 mana leak 1 spiketail hatchling 2 cancel 2 repulse 2 archeomancer 2 rite if replication 4 Talrand's invocation 1 Talrand, sky summoner 1 bribery 1 followed footsteps 2 future sight 1 panoptic mirror 1 sphinx of lost truths 2 time warp 1 tidings
Any questions let me know, sorry about not linking them I'm in my phone at work

The only change I might make is take out 1 azure mage for a gravitational shift

if your running two future sight why run tidings? only use one future sight. I understand you want two to increase your odds of getting one but it is not worth it if you run into it again and you wish you ran in to an archeomancer instead.
