is Chosen of Markov effective in running a R/U/B Vampire/Zombie deck?

Generally speaking, 3 colors means you sacrifice consistency for additional power. I assume you are splashing blue for phantasmal image or phyrexian metamorph , in which case you should have more than enough playables. Additionally, if you are going vampire and zombies that gives you even more playables. In fact, it is entirely possible to build a quite strong mono-black vampire/zombie list.

4 x bloodthrone vampire
4 x geralf's messenger
4 x diregraf ghoul
4 x gravecrawler
4 x blood artist
3 x geth's verdict
3 x fume spitter
3 x mortarpod
4 x tragic slip
2 x highborn ghoul
2 x falkenrath noble

4 x cavern of souls
19 x swamp

It might not be entirely obvious, but there are lots of little synergies here. For example, fume spitter removes the undying counter off a geralf's messenger. With 3x mortarpod, 4x tragic slip, 3x fume spitter delvers and mana critters should die fast. The deck has a low curve, but blood artist (and backup blood artist aka noble) type effects leave the possibility of a "combo" finish. With bloodthrone vampire, you can repeatdly sac gravecrawler with another zombie out. Blood artist type effects also are quite helpful with racing.

If you wish to make zombie/vampires, this is a reasonable place to start.

With Zombies and Vampires you want to dedicate your deck to be a Zombie deck or a Vampire deck.

Zombies wants a lot of other Zombies so that you can recur Gravecrawler and running more non-zombue cretures than needed impacts the recursion. Also you want your lords to be consistent. Either 4 Diregraf Captain if your running zombies, or 4 Stromkirk Captain if your running Vampires. If you run both your lords dont have much impact and in some cases are nothing but a body on the field.

A RUB Vampire Zombie mix is trying to do too much to be effective and consistant.

I would pick either UB or RB Zombies or RB Vampires and go with it.

I think illusionz is correct in that a deck with both diregraf captain and stromkirk captain is likely very bad. As he says, if you are running "lord" effects you really want to maximize the creature type you are focusing around.

However, it is certainly possible to successfully mix vampires and zombies. The most successful zombie archtype at the moment I believe is with the red splash, and has blood artist and falkenrath aristocrat , and lacks lord effects.

Conley Woods attempted to make a R/U/B zombies list over on the channelfireball website, he has a video series where he attempts to make rogue decks. (Conley Woods is a noted rogue deck builder and professional magic player)

But.... if want to build a deck yourself, its definitely easiest to stick with one tribe, and follow illusionz advice.

Yeah BR zombies has been successful with the Aristocrat, which is a vampire. Its fast and hits hard with evasion, and fills the 4-drop slot. Although the list runs, 4 Blood Artist and 3-4 Falkenrath Aristocrat, the core of the deck is a zombie build.

While the people here are pretty right about what they have told you they never really answered you question of whether chosen of markov is actually good.. and I don't think it is for the simple fact that the tempo that you have 2 lose by playing a 3 drop and tapping 2 vampires(the one for the ability and itself) just isn't worth a vanilla 4/4 ...your better off playing some other creatures that can already have the 4 power that cards gives... like geralf's messenger or falkenrath aristocrat

Wanting to add mana leak does not warrant splashing blue. Your an aggro deck so your slots are better filled with kill spells, burn spells or aggressive creatures.

EDIT: Even if im running UB zombies i still would not maindeck Mana Leak. Your main focus is to get stuff out. If you leave counter mana open and your opponent doesnt play anything or has Cavern of Souls , then you have just wasted a turn where you could have been advancing your board presence, and putting the pressure on them. I would only reccomend running a couple Negate , but in the SB. Its better than Mana Leak against Planeswalkers, Burn decks, and Miracles ( Terminus ) because it doesnt give them a way out.

Most of the time, you are just better off with Spot removal.

EDIT2: On the topic of Chosen of Markov . I would not run her in a Vampire Build. You have access to better vampires in the 2 slot, Vampire Interloper , Blood Artist . She is just too slow. Id rather attack then tap my creatures to transform her. However, the card does have good artwork.

To give you a simple answer, no, Chosen of Markov is terrible in any deck in standard.  If you want her to get bigger, you have to waste time tapping a vampire and her.
