That was awesome. I really got the sense of isolation that the setting was in. It actually felt still and quiet. I love it when writer's nail the description of the atmosphere over everything. This is easily my favorite column now and I look forward to more. Makes me want novels again or even a massive encyclopedia that just collects all the flavor of the entire series.

Fantastic! I liked this weeks even more than Odric's story, it was oozing with Darkness which I enjoy greatly. The ending was amazing. Thank you Miss Helland!

Okay, here is the clincher. I've been waiting to say this.
The "cam girl" this was inspired by was just a girl from a social networking website, Stickam. Her name was TinyTerror and she was just a regular girl who was on her webcam, totally unrelated to any type of adult content.
I hope you all feel really smart now.
This is like someone coming into class with a bloody nose and everyone's like "Jeez what happened to you" and they're like "I ran into a wall" and everyone laughs at them for being an idiot but then at the end of the class they say "HAHA JUST KIDDING I PUNCHED MYSELF IN THE FACE!!!!!! TALK ABOUT OWNED HAHAHAHAHA"
I really enjoy imagining this from Kevin's perspective. Because in Kevin's world, Rosewater actually reads everything he types. Mark is sitting there right now, reading this, and thinking "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled. . ." Or some such. He chuckles low, then clicks on "The Best Of KEVINSET" and says "Yes, this'll do just fine. A busty lady with banding who deals direct damage to Zones!? Why this will be the star of my next set, and no one will ever believe you Kevin." Then he closes his Macbook, so his servant may move it out of the way, while another servant puts a Fetal Richard Garfield Clone lathered in Steak Sauce in front of him. Then Mark Feasts.
Sorin walked into the chamber where his newly wed bride, Vampy, awaited. A beam of moonlight illuminated his brilliant silver hair as he strode with confidence towards the bed. His shirtless body showcased his powerful abdominal muscles and he was wearing jeans with holes in the knees.
I wish more girls play magic cards...
Have you considered assassinating Kevin?

I'm enjoying the writing, but Shandalar isn't really as familiar a plane to most people as Innistrad was last week. Afaik, we don't have sufficient background to fully enjoy this scene. It isn't remotely clear to me why we should care about the outcome of this clash, considering that the gorgon won't get the eyes of a righteous man regardless of the outcome, and we know it, and we know that Sentos knows it, which makes his behavior not just spiteful, but irrationally so. Additionally, we have no comprehension of the consequences of this event, which is really where the tension should come from when two bad guys fight.
Enjoyable prose, decent dialogue, but as with many, many short stories out there, not remotely enough exposition.

With abit more intro to the plane or even previous stories maybe this one could have been better, but really impressed overall with it. Gruesome yet exciting, the end was alittle wierd but awsome to show some more of the cards interacting.

Actually the main reason I liked this one better than last weeks was the change in settings. Innistrad was cool and all, but reading about it again and again got tedious for me.

I thought it was pretty excellent. It set the scene beautifully and developed Sentos' character very well for such a short piece - a righteous enough man, but not one so utterly selfless that he would give his eyes to end her curse. Worked out to be a pretty good commentary on the nature of celebrity in a way - the gulf between reality and perception and the suffocating nature of an impossible reputation.

The story is missing one line. It should end "and vorthos was contented"
All jokes aside, this was really good. Vorthos has his column!!
