There is no red vampire deck and red vampires, with the exception of stromkirk noble, are very bad cards.
1000th post November 26, 2010. Where Islands gets his decks: Spoiler:
Show
It was revealed to me in a dream. All the cards were in my dream except for three slots which I plugged in as Vault Skirge.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The dream was post AVR so there was a copy of Slayer's Stronghold. I decided to keep it pre AVR in my post here.
EDIT: I just remembered. The Skirges might have been 2x Whipflare and 1x something else, probably War and Peace.
EDIT2: Currently 4-0 in my first four games with this. My opponents have been very angry. I fought off a Wurmcoil from Grixis for six turns before I found my second Dispatch. Jeez, I can do a lot of damage.
EDIT3: Streak broken. Lost to an unexpected Overrun. Cracking a Shrine for 10 wasn't enough.
How Kedi tests his decks: Spoiler:
Show
also, I've been playtesting this deck in my sleep today that kinda freaked me out

Thanks to Kipz for the sig. Make a contract with me to become a magical girl!

staples implies you actually have a good deck or strategy
vampires, let alone red vampires, is not a good deck.... its not even an OK deck, its bad
play zombies, which is a real deck that can win games

You are forgetting about Falkenrath Aristocrat and Olivia Voldaren , unless of course those don't count because they are multi-color, Stromkirk Captain too, although he isnt quite up to par with some of the other lords that DKA added (namely the spirit and zombie lords).
Also Rakish Heir isn't terrible. Its not good by any stretch of the imagination, but it is at least passable I would say, assuming an atmosphere that isn't super competitive.
the vampire aggressive curve is waaay too slow to be relevant. this is why zombies is the go to tribe for black

Oh I don't disagree at all, vamps is not where you want to be right now. Just saying, devils advocate and all, you know.

I've got a Red/Black Vampire deck which seems to be pretty successful. I built it just after DA came out, and it's been winning pretty consistently..It has some Stromkirk Captain 's, a Falkenrath Aristocrat , 2 Olivia Voldaren 's, Stromkirk Noble 's, and a few other vampires, such as Bloodcrazed Neonate , Rakish Heir , and Crossway Vampire . The whole deck revolves around ramping up, obviously, with most Vampires getting +1/+1 counters for dealing damage to a player, Rakish Heir's giving an additional +1/+1 each time a Vampire deals damage to a player, etc. I've also put a few spells that do this in, Vampiric Fury , for instance, as well as Bump in the Night for some quick-fire damage. Hope this helps a bit

Bump in the Night is awful. Your playing red, so you have access to better, instant speed, deal x damage spells than bump

I agree, there are much better cards out there, however I find bump in the night is quite nice for a starting hand. 1 swamp for 3 damage straight off. Can't complain, really. And it always has the flashback for later in the game. I also have some Brimstone Volley's in there, which are rather nice if you can get their morbid effect activated.

bump in the night is bad because you're not a dedicated burn deck. you just spent a card for 3 points of life. this is not worth a card when the opponent didn't have to pay a card to stop a creature. yes, you can play it later, but 6 mana is an awful lot for an aggressive deck. you're better off playing a 1-mana creature.
