I Have been a fan of monoblack for a while now and from past experience and hours of playtesting i have come upon the conclusion that MBC isnt really that viable in standard right now, so i decided to go with EDH because it grants me so much more breathing room with what i can play. I chose Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief as my general. Any one have suggestion on "must haves" for the deck?

Find some wraths like damnnation. ( doing this via mobile so i can't link) you'll need 3 or 4 in the deck. Mutilate is comming in m13, so that should work well. Rune scared demon does double duty, can be bounced and reanimated for reuse, and is cheap money wise. Sheoldred, whispering one is good, but also makes you a target. A couple kill spells like doom blade won't hurt, but limit them. It's more likely you'll want to whipe the board than just one creature.

Necropotence , it's legal and it can draw as many cards as you need. Along the subject of card advantage, Phyrexian Arena and Bloodgift Demon are both options. Lashwrithe and Nightmare Lash are all stars in MB in EDH. Especially with Drana they make her an easy 1-shot killer. Liliana Vess can be repeateable tutoring. Karn Liberated gives you a means of dealing with troublesome permanents you otherwise would not be able to. Nirkana Revanent is another strong mana-doubler. Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves , since hasting any of the creatures you choose to run will be good. I can't remember the name, but that Zombie from Ravnica with the ability "BBB, T: Destroy target land. If that land was non-basic, untap ~"

Grave Pact is good enough to be a standard in non-mono black decks. Suffer the Past doesn't seem too great. Then you see it is an instant. Black Sun's Zenith ignores hexproof, shroud, protection from black, regeneration, and indestructible. And it returns to your deck. The best board wipe, period. I wouldn't put Midnight Banshee in a multicolor deck, but for mono it might work. It might also paint a giant target on you.
