When you 'saved' the game file on PS3, didnyou use the full system back up and restore function?
No, I was pressed for time... I realize there are flaws in the way I did it, but circumstances prevented me from doing it carefully.
I mean yeah, I could have waited too, but there was a to-do list and a ticking clock... You know how that can screw with things. DotP was the only save that I regret losing though and even then, I was barely 1/3rd of the way unlocked.
Either way, I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't ever back up your DotP13 save, merely that simply copying wouldn't do it.

That's cool. A lot of games have protected game data. You weren't changing console then? A lot of save data you copied would look fine, but would never save again in that case.

Doing system backup/restore only works if you're restoring the same PS3. I was taking advantage of a trade-in offer upgrading from a 80gb fatty to a 320 gb slim. Because of that, I never had access to both consoles at the same time or able to take advantage of cloud saving.
It didn't really matter too much though, the only game data I lost that I care about were the DotP games. Everything else I was able to copy. Even some games that used to have locked save files like Resident Evil 5 are no longer locked.
