The winners are just cards that I feel are good cards.
The Hopefuls are cards that will submitted into the discussion thread, to potentially (most-likely) get into the set.

I'm glad you liked the idea of Hardbitten Guard.
I think its nice because if you can flash in split-second then it really is acting like a guard...
If someone plays a death spell you can counter it, then put the guard on top...for a high cost I admit.
As I understand you can't cast 2 creatures on the same stack though, so you wouldn't be able to use it to literally shield a creature...although Gather the townsfolk and other token generators would be swell...just thinking of card interactions elsewhere in the game...ty
