I believe that's due mostly to the fact that PC's are more expensive, therefor the average PC player is older and has been gaming longer. I'm mostly a PS3 player, and so long as you avoid Call of Duty it's not too bad here.
That being said, I played against the most immature guy ever today. I should have known from the start, when I joined the match he was talking ab out the hate mail he'd just sent.
When he had a creature burned on turn two, he immediately called my team mate a ****, and proceeded to do that at least once every turn until we won. He was also complaining about getting mana flooded every draw, even though I was too, but of course he ignored that. Every round I had to hear him cry about it, and how it's happened every game. When we won he made sure to let us know how he felt about that with a volley of expletives. Once back in the lobby he kicked my team mate, but I left before he could kick me too. The worst part is, he wasn't even a kid, he sounded 20ish.
Bring on the singularity.

The only things that bother me are people who concede right as I swing for lethal damage. It doesn't bother me too much, but I know they're doing it just to avoid losing Leaderboard points (PS3),
And people who showboat. If I'm tapped out, if there's no possible way I can avoid losing, don't cast any spells, just swing in and stop wasting my time by trying to show me how big your virtual **** is.
When I play random people with mics, and don't feel like plugging mine in, it's funny to imagine they're probably calling me all kinds of names and I can't hear them because I'm always listening to music or watching something on my computer while I play and have the sound off.

Oh hey, it's this thread again. Might as well recount another story. Was playing 2HG with Andre a while back, can't remember all the decks involved, but I do remember we didn't have a great start and were basically just stalling as long as we could hoping to go infinite turns. Eventually we did, and one of our opponents quit as soon as it started, as they were both mana tapped out. I get that losing to infinite turns isn't an awesome way to lose, so we try to make it quick as possible, but we didn't have great board presence. The guy who stayed started insulting us, but didn't leave, so we moved to attack to make things quick. He blocked me with Phyrexian Obliterator . Andre went infinite, not me. All he was doing was slowing the game down, while insulting us. We won (slowly) and he left in lobby. The last thing he said? "Dat's some weak a** s**t. Ya'll some f****ts for pulling that b***h move. Good game though."
Bring on the singularity.

I think people quitting early is a matter of the game's design. There is absolutely no reason to stay in a losing match or even a "tough" match for that matter. Think about it, how do you unlock cards? Pay or win. How do you gain rank? Win. There are no points or unlocks for losing, just time spent waiting for your opponent to realize that they won. That way you can wait while they play every card they got, instead of just winning. You might as well save yourself the time and quit out so that you can get into another match. Sure you can brag on the forums about your deck beating it's worst match up....but we all know you got crazy lucky (in one way or another). Mostly people just complain about the shuffler (which hates me too) or how all thier opponents get lucky.
If they want people to stay for a loss in the next game they need to either penalize quitting harshly or reward staying in some way or both. I think if they incorporated some kind of funny money points or whatever in the game to where they can use those points to buy foils of thier cards (though I think they would rather make real money off of foils than make a better experience for everyone). If the point scales are high enough it could take thousands of matches to unlock the whole set and by then the DLC is out and there are 100s of additional cards to foil. I know not everyone cares about foils, but some do and those people would stay.
As for people being jerks online, that is the nature of online play. Some people have more time than others and will type out somehting mean because they have nothing better to do. There is no avoiding that if you want to play online. Though, I will say if you join the community run tournements I am sure you will have a better experience with that crowd than you will with the masses.

Speak of immature players, just played a game on the PC, 2hg vs a player named Maynid I had Sulfuric Vortex on the field he along with his ally had 1 life total. In his upkeep before Vortex kills him. He pauses the game and the timer never runs out. He smirks and says "have fun." Me and my ally are now stuck unable to proceed and he isn't leaving the game. This is not the first time I've bumped into him and players like him. Don't know what he did to keep the pause timer during upkeep permanent, but like others before him said: "enjoy being stuck, while I go watch tv"! These kind of people are just sad.
