So it's been a really long time since I've built a new EDH deck, and the deckbuilder inside me is screaming. So I'm looking for some ideas. I want to play a 2 color general, that's primary use is 1v1. So far I'm leaning towards Edric, Spymaster of Trest , but I've also given some serious thought to Wydwen, the Biting Gale , Skullbriar, the Walking Grave and Gaddock Teeg . Any advice? Please keep in mind also that while I'm not uber-competitive, I do at heart consider myself a Spike. Thanks!

I personally think Edric would be the easiest and most effect to build around. Skullbriar is an interesting card, but remember that -1/-1 counters stick with him too so Infect/Wither can shut him down. Have you considered Nin, the Pain Artist ?

Nin, the Pain Artist seems fragile. I'm not the most "Johnny" of fellas, so I'm not even sure how to use her? I haven't noticed many folks using Wither/Infect in my neck of the woods yet either.

You basically deal damage to your own creatures, Stuffy Doll for instance, and draw a ton of cards until you can assemble your win condition.  I'm sure she has other fun uses though.

I personally would look at Rhys The Redeemed or Momir Vig, Simic Visionary .

Why the colour restrictions? 
For 1 colour I would look at Xiahou Dun, The One-Eyed or Azami, Lady Of Scrolls , for 3 colours I'd look at Uril, The MistStalker or Rafiq Of The Many .

I've never been overly impressed with a 1 color generals besides Braids. But really the color restriction is 2 fold. All but 1 of my Commander decks is 3 colors. The other being a very illegal Braids deck. Just didn't have the heart to take her apart. And the 2nd reason is budget. For the first time, in a very long time I actually have to keep a deck to somewhat budget. With Dual lands at nearly between 60 and 100 a pop, cutting 1 is saving a considerable amount of dough.

I think I'm going to go with Edric, just because I feel that other than Gaddock he's probably the most competitive.

I played against a Rhys deck once.  It may just be that he had a best case scenario going on, but it was both sick and wrong.

Added Craterhoof Behemoth and Sower of Temptation in place of Archaeomancer and something else. Also added Saproling Burst in place of Seedtime ; and Temporal Mastery in place of Overwhelming Stampede .

I would like some suggestions though plz?

Green Sun's Zenith probably improves any green deck with creatures.  Which should really be all of them.
Shardless Agent is quick and dirty card advantage.
Alchemist's Refuge probably can't hurt.
Deadeye Navigator is a bit costly, but great with ETB effects (especially Mystic Snake).
