Needs Day of Judgment and Desperate Ravings. I like the feeling of Dread.
I just heard the distinct noise of a lone guitar string breaking, somewhere off in the distance.

Control shouldn't be running vapor smag because it doesn't get rid of the card and you have to spend valuble resources to get rid of it again next turn... that slot should be used for something like slagstorm or whipflare or even DoJ..

please, please, please remove the burning vengeance. either you go all out and build around it or not at all.
now with that gone, replace the mediocre cards with flashback with actual good cards. go from there.

Agree with Burning_Forest. Vengeance is really icky. It's a sludgy and ineffective win condition, and it's making you play cards just because they flash back but otherwise don't do anything you want. Neat idea and certainly applause for brewing, but there are more effective ways to go.
I do think there's a lot of merit to URW. Absolutely need some Whipflares and Days, comfortably three each. O-ring and the walkers are also solid, with Think Twice and Ponder for draw. Or Ravings, I know it's good, but it weirds me out. Even Forbidden Alchemy would probably do you well what with Snaps, and would be preferable depending on your finishers.
Of which I'd look to Consecrated Sphinx, and/or the Sun Titan/Phantasmal Image deal. Batterskull might be of use as well against aggro.
I kinda want to try UWR now.
Welcome to 2012. Blue has the most efficient creatures, black has the all-in monocolored aggro deck, the most controlling deck in the format is green-red, control decks lose to aggro in attrition wars, and counterspells aren't an answer to fatties.
Pack Rat is like Bitterblossom and Tarmogoyf had a black baby.

I like UWR more than UWB in general, but I think Lingering Souls is too good to pass up at the moment which is why I haven't tried UWR.
It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.
It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

In agreement that the Burning Vengeance plan probably isn't solid enough, and it needs more sweepers. If you feel like entertaining the use of miracles, I have started using a URW build to decent success. Only one FNM under its belt so far but it got me to top 4, beating UR Delver, Naya Humans, Esper Control and GR Aggro. Lost only to Solar Flare due to a misplay on my part, and all 3 games were pretty close. Here's the list if you're interested (sideboard being tweaked a bit, as I originally had a few Timely Reinforcements in the side but I was never truly fond of boarding them in): 2 x Whipflare 2 x Pillar of Flame 4 x Terminus 4 x Think Twice 4 x Ponder 2 x Noxious Revival 4 x Entreat the Angels 2 x Tamiyo, the Moon Sage 1 x Gideon Jura 1 x Karn Liberated 2 x Temporal Mastery 4 x Mana Leak 2 x Dissipate 4 x Seachrome Coast 4 x Glacial Fortress 4 x Sulfur Falls 4 x Evolving Wilds 2 x Desolate Lighthouse 4 x Islands 2 x Plains 1 x Mountain 1 x Shimmering Grotto SIDEBOARD 2 x Oblivion Ring 2 x Pillar of Flame 2 x Negate 2 x Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite 1 x Dissipate 2 x Divine Offering 1 x Snapcaster Mage 1 x Tamiyo, the Moon Sage 1 x Divine Deflection 1 x Day of Judgment

i was doing UWR control (probably my favorite color combination, and not because i'm patriotic or anything) for a while and it was basically a few counters, some draw, bunch of sweepers, and then using solemn simulacrum to ramp into 6's and elesh.
desolate lighthouse, by the way, is great for anyone unfamiliar with it.
one problem seems to be that there is a general unfocused quality to the deck and also that nothing you can do in these colors is good enough compared with other colors. i don't know if that makes sense at all.
