I just realized how crazy this is with cascade. Absolutely getting this deck.
the spells you cascade into won't have Rebound
No but you get to Cascade twice for every instant/sorcery with Cascade you cast so you ultimately get 4 cards for the price of 1, that's on the niftier side of things.

It's very weird to have a known mechanic on an unknown location.

Surprised no one has mentioned Halo yet. What with all the giant rings around in the artwork.
"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am a God."

It would actually be pretty cool if it turned out that they were portals to other planes. I really love the look of this plane though.

1) Halo's thing was rings around a planet, not on a planet.
2) Science fiction has being doing ringworlds/orbitals for decades before Halo came along, so there's nothing unique to Halo about it.
It's really not even about giving niche cards to black.
It should be about giving black cards to Niche.

3. Halo is boring because it has no magic.

Meh, it was one of the first things I thought of (and I have a rather large distaste for the Halo series), along with Stargate.
Association is a funny thing eh?

I thought of Stargate, and of the Asura Gates from Guild Wars.
