Welcome to the final faction in Kralis's introductory set, the Illusions of Kalla's Court. Jockeying with the Neverborn for the position of "most hostile thing on the plane", the Illusions are ruled over by Kalla, King of Falsehoods. As beings made entirely of dream-stuff and native to the Realms Unreal, the Illusions are tricky opponents, using deceit and misdirection to throw their enemies off-balance before overwhelming them with magic and mayhem, all in the name of devouring the reality of their victim and becoming truly Real.

When you wish upon a star....

You can find the main archives for Kralis here.

Looming Bully makes me wonder if I can strip it of the ability to sacrifice it once it's been triggered and make it survive, pretty sure I can't. Means it'll only really survive on your own turn due to priorities. I suppose this forces people to make plays on their own turn... it's quite an interesting card.

Savage Discorp I like, feels like a R/U card, plays like an R/U card.

Dream Lover is a neat trick on a stick.

The Familiar I thought at first would require "as an instant" or something similar, but almost no other card has that, so I guess it's assumed you can just do that unless it specifies Sorcery speed.

Wording on the Familiar was ripped from the errata on Quicken .

Yeah, the ability on Looming Bully won't save him from a targeting spell.  His "illusion" drawback will trigger before you can do anything about it.  You can still activate it before it gets targeted though but it's just not as good as it first looks like.

Dream Lover fits red pretty good.  Was this what you were thinking about when you made the beauty contest?

The familiar is awesome, just not red though.

Discorporation is neat.

Think I could cut the ability cost on the Bully down to ? Or keep it the same and have him gain Hexproof? That second one seems like it might be a little much....

Dream Lover is one idea for the beauty contest, but I mostly just wanted to see what crawled out when I kicked that log over. I swear I'm trying to grade it >.>

I edited the Familiar to quicken Dream and Sorcery cards. I've always thought Red had room for Quicken effects, and unless I hear a compelling argument to the contrary I'd like to keep one or two in Red for both these guys and Humanity.

Savage discorporation should never be a Common.  The mana cost is probably too low for something that can clear four permanents off the board, but even with a higher cost it's still a blowout that can swing Limited games like mad.  It wouldn't seem out of place as a Rare, if you ask me.

Point well made. Rarity altered.

I guess red is still the color of sorcery ( burning wish , magnivore ).  But with the new Alchemist's Refuge reconfirming blue as the quicken color again + the fact that red is stealing blue's color pie every day ( reverberate , faithless looting ), I personally wouldn't touch this with red.  But feel free to do it if you want ( Ghitu Fire has it built-in!)

"Dream Lover" sounds like someone who loves dreams. Like a Cake Lover, or something. Maybe Lover's Dream? Dreamborn Lover? Ethereal Temptress, Dreampassion? Ghost Tramp?
