Where the hell did you get Eldrazi will be on Ravnica? o_O I mean, sure, it could happen. But if they catch Jace by surprise, the Multiverse are kinda doomed. Plus, it would make making the set around guilds a bit difficult.

Lots of multicolor cards are a must. Shocklands are a must. Enchantments won't matter. The guild system will somehow be revived, at least as a mini theme.

We'll hopefully see the structure type?

I think this idea mostly comes from the fact that the last time we heard from Gideon, he was traveling to Ravnica to recruit help to defeat the Eldrazi. I guess people are making a link there and assuming that RtR will have something to do with that.

This thread is just for fun. I'd like to see the Eldrazi destroy Ravnica because it would be exciting and has huge potential for awesome art. Any sort real connections to justify it can help solidify the prediction, but mostly I made the thread and brought up the Eldrazi as a personal wish and wanted to know what everyone else hoped for.

I could get behind the Eldrazi crashing around through the city....but only if WotC used this for the sets official theme song:

This is the same wrongheaded thinking we see in comic books. Comic Book death is bad, but it exists because destroying everything your customers like for cheap drama is worse.

R2R is "assumed" a multicolor set, so therefore multicolor planeswalkers would be good

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed. I just don't think the guilds are going to have the same clout they did in Ravnica.

2.) Enchantments will matter.

I agree entirely. The first Ravnica had a small enchantment subtheme. And Avacyn supports enchantments pretty heavily. I'd say we're due for an enchantment-themed set.

Perhaps but Comic Book Death is also so bad because it's so often undone. It's like soap operas where they constantly put people in comas to cause drama and revert it the second people lose interest.

What I'm suggesting is a fitting Act 2 of the Eldrazi Arch where instead of attacking some plane that we've never heard of it goes for the one that would create a huge impact in the story. Stories with needless drama (Comic Book Death) are bad, but so are stories where they never really hurt the main characters, in this case a Plane itself. I'm not saying Ravnica has to ultimately be destroyed, but a Pyrrhic Victory where they only defeat the Eldrazi by the skin of their teeth and no small cost in lives/infrastructure would to me be a good story.

The Eldrazi are great big eating machines. They don't get an arc.
