ok I have a 2/2 Doublestriker that is blocked by a 3/3 creature with no special abilities. what would be the break down of damage here. i say that both creatures would die, my friend says that only the 3/3 would die. Please help us so we can understand this better.

Both will die, because steps proceed like this

declare attackers

declare blockers

1st strike damage

normal damage

A creature with double strike does this............

applies the 1st strike, dealing 2 to the 3/3, then normal damage is dealt the 3/3 hits the 2/2 and the 2/2 hits him again, causing the 3/3 to die because of 4 damage, and the 2/2 to the 3.

Now if it's infect/wither damage and 1st strike, -1/-1 counters will be applied.

Also, questions like this need to be posted in the Rules Q&A Forum, not here in the FAQ forums
Decks I run

Spoiler: Show

I currently run a deck for Standard, Modern, Commander and Legacy.
For standard, I have a typical, horribly budget Rakdos Deck Wins.
For Modern, I have a B/G/U/W Draw-go Reanimator featuring my favorite creature, Wurmcoil Engine .
For Legacy, I'm trying too hard to break Pyromancer Ascension . I also run a Naya Zoo with all the oldies .
For Commander/EDH, I'm running The Mimeoplasm .
A little morals thing about me, I like winning through combos, but not infinitely.

However quiet, I am a Christian, so feel free to tell me you are too, it's always a relief.

Cheers!
