Fun in EDH I guess? Maybe Heartless can get this guy out fast enough in standard, but I doubt it.

I first read this as being equal to the whole life, not half of it.  So much for Phage.

This isn't bad, I guess.  Not really worth it though.  5 mana for at best a 10/10... Maybe in Commander.

This is pretty cool. Inquisitor's Flail mayhaps? I'm sure there are even better equipments outside of the block that can be used to essentially double his size. Fireshrieker ?

The part where it's better than the titans... which it isn't. Not better than wurmcoil either. Even if they're at 20, which they won't be most of the time, especially if you connect with this guy.

For mono-red you would use Hellrider and if you are splashing another color you play the better fatties from those colors like Gisela or the green card-draw fatty.

I feel like this card will only be played in EDH.

So let me get this straight? This guy gets WEAKER the more you hurt your opponent. So he's terrible at any time you are winning the game? And he costs how much? If he had flying or something then maybe but not even that. Ugh. Dollar mythic may be a little high. He may make it as a proxy back cover.

I do suppose if you're going to play this card, you should hope that your opponent is playing Archangel's Light since it combos with this!

At least he's castable.  And in multiplayer games he can be scary.

Multiplayer card (hint you don't attack the player who's health he is based off). 1 on 1 he's lack luster. He could be a decent soulbond target for either wingcrafter or the trample granting dude. But again he get's weaker and can't kill till they are at one life, without help (the silverheart could help here). 

20,10,5,2,10- 5 attacks to kill alone with him.

Not impressed with him honestly.

Also this is not legendary why?

Combos well with Gratuitous Violence , Furnace of Rath , Curse of Bloodletting , Inquisitor's Flail , Blossom , etc

I guess Curse Of Bloodletting and this guy, maybe with blue for Artful Dodge or something?

This guy is pretty cool though, I wonder if he is taking the "dragon" spot in AVR.

Speaking of dragons, to the guy who was saying this would go into the "Inferno Titan" spot once that rotates.. I'd rather play Balefire Dragon or Moonveil Dragon over this guy even at higher cost.

I like the kind of mess it can make of a boardstate, but it's kind of a "fake" threat in that the more it does what it's supposed to do, the less efficiently it does that.

Doesn't work for a couple reasons. His power will go down before the second strike hits, so you'll only knock them down to 5 with Double Strike. Alsoyou can only bond one guy to him, so you couldn't get him both Double Strike and Haste off of Soulbond.

I like the card, and it's Commander fun, but it's not good.

what about as sb card if soul sisters.dec (or the ilk) comes back...if they have 50 life, he's pretty helpful for a red deck

Furnace of Rath + Sneak Attack + this could be a suprising t3-5 win with some mana acceleration. Boring, I know.
But "combos" like that are so unreliable... and red is not my color.

Or Phyresis .  Or, in a pinch, Glistening Oil or Corrupted Conscience .

So wait, in theory, by itself, can this thing ever kill an opponent? It can never do more than half damage to them and even if they had 1 this creature would disappear out of existence. How is that good?

It's rounded up, so when your opponent is at 1 HP it would kill him. Jay!

At least it walks through Fog and other generic damage prevention. Too bad it doesn't walk through spirit tokens though...

Haha you just made me realize that I read something on this card, which was never written there!
I thought somehow it could assign its combat damage as though it weren't blocked.

seems very much like an edh card. kinda cool though.

Honestly, I really want to like this card due to the art, the name and the flavor text but it seems like R&D may have failed on this guy. His name makes him sound legendary but he isn't. His art makes me think that this card could have been taken in a sort of mythic ball lightning direction by giving it trample and haste which would have made him awesome in multiplayer and in one on ones. I would have been happy if his power and toughness were set to equal half the opponent's life total when he enters play but with the way he is right now I just can't get behind him.

A) Because if you want to break infect, there are easier and better ways to do so.

B) Because if you hit your opponent or your opponent hits themselves for four damage or more, you're screwed.

I would gladly play a 10/10 for 5 while I ramp into a game-ending Devil's Play.  This guy seems more controlly than red is used to.

I like the concept and flavor. And the name. Especially the name.
