U know...mana doesn't float thru phases. U technically had no magus mana when u entered your combat phase, so u only could make him indestructible...Lol-it's no biggie tho

block the grimblade with llanowar elves, killing it and take 5, putting me to 7 UUD strangleroot geist  and swing with thornling unpumped, then pass the turn if you have no responses L:7 T:  , thornling U: geist, H:2

good game. I thought for sure I'd lose that match as my whole gameplan revolves around hypergen.
Basically, I suspend the genesis as early as possible (hence the elves and magus) then use cards like the instincts to get a bunch of 2 creature combos in my hand and wreck havoc when the genesis resolves. The thornling and geists are kinda my backup plan (lol, when all else fails, pump some mana through thornling)
