BTW, Has anyone found any other creature besides Kjeldoran Skyknight that errata-dated a creature type (which still exists on other cards), that it was printed with?
I have my list from this post. Some of them are because there are two or more conflicting printings.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Bringers . I'd be fine with them just being beasts, since nothing they do functionally is suggestive of them "bringing" anything.

Because it's from Lorwyn (well, Shadowmoor, same thing). They decided not to give the greater elementals animal creature types even though many of them resemble animals. Crackleburr isn't a Fox, Offalsnout isn't a Boar, and Slithermuse isn't a Snake. You're right. I just find the criteria for Elementals to be very capricious.
PirateAmmo on the ball again. That's impressive. Of course, you're right about those (that they should at least have the creature type(s) they were printed with). They must be oversights. (Unless anyone can dig up an article where they explain those?)
I guess Marjhan and Shelkin Brownie's pictures greatly influenced those decisions. Just like Pyknite has those long sharp ears, but isn't quite an Elf, they may have thought Shelkin Brownie looks like an Ouphe, and since the only other Brownie was an Ouphe... As for Marjhan... Perhaps any unrecognizable Sea Creature (see Thing from the Deep ) is up for interpretation. That, or if it can swallow a whale like a pill, it's considered a Leviathan.
Their decisions may not completely be justified, that much seems to get more and more apparent to me by this thread.

You're right though. I would have them more likely be Avatars. Just another odd cycle that somehow got it's own vague creature type.

^^ Hehe - I wonder if you truly meant to add that final "s" ... Not a big update, but I just noticed that my Duel Deck Goblin Warchief says it's a "Warrior", when Oracle lists it as a plain old Goblin. I guess it's easier for them to justify errors coming from special edition releases? I say that if it was printed with a creature type, it should have it.
