Dear All,
I have two questions:

1) My opponent has Energy Field and a plainswalker in play.
Is it true that my creatures cannot kill the plainswalker by attacking?
If yes, can anyone tell me why?

2) I have 1 life. I have a  sphinx of the steel wind .
My opponent has disciple of the vault and ornithopter .
Is it possible for me to kill the ornithopter in combat with sphinx without losing the game?
(Like, in combat in which player's turn?)

Thanks in advance!

1) Your opponent is not his planeswalker, therefore damage dealt to the planeswalker is not prevented by Energy Field .

2) Yes, lifelink modifies the results of damage. You gain 6 life from the Sphinx's combat damage before the Disciple's trigger is even put on the stack. Whose turn it is doesn't matter.

You mean Planeswalker.

You can still attack his Planeswalker, and if you deal combat damage to it then Loyalty counters are removed. Remove enough counters and it will go to his Graveyard.

Energy Field doesnt have anything to do with attacking.

Normally you can deal direct damage (like Lightning Bolt ) to your opponent, then redirect that damage to a Planeswalker they control (you cant actually target a Planeswalker with 'Bolt). Energy Field will prevent this damage, however.

Lifelink is a static ability - you gain life AS the creature deals damage. You will have gained life before the Ornithopter has even been sent to the graveyard, long before you lose life due to the Disciple's triggered ability (you could even respond to the trigger with a lifegain spell and survive).

Hope that helps

Thank you guys!

I thought Lifelink is triggered ability, and I was wrong...

A plainswalker or a planeswalker ?

Not, this is not true. Energy Field will protect against damage from spells and abilities directed at you that your opponent would then redirect to your walker (as you may have the damage be prevented first before the redirection).

But creatures attack the planeswalker directly; the damage is not being dealt to the player, so Energy Field will not prevent it.

Lifelink is a static ability that gives you life at the same time the Sphinx's damage is dealt; while creatures die right after the damage is dealt, and the Disciple's ability is triggered and uses the stack.

So, you go immediately from 1 to 7 life as the Sphinx's damage is dealt, then the Ornithopter dies, and then Disciple's ability triggers and goes to the stack. When the ability resolves, you will go to 6 life.

Thanks in advance!

It was before M10 changed it. So be careful with older cards, that still use the old trigger wording. Check gatherer to see, if they still use the trigger or if they got errata. Except for Loxodon Warhammer , all cards that were printed with the trigger wording should still use it.

Confirmed: all cards work as printed (in regard to genuine Lifelink VS triggered life gain),
all those which had been errataed were reversed back to their printed functionality,
except Warhammer.
