So I was derping around a local card store when suddenly a wild Liliana Vess crosses my eye. I look at it and it's Japanese!!! I buy it for $8. Was it worth it?

$8 is a little high for a regular Liliana Vess , but if the Japanese adds extra value to you personally, then it was worth it. Some people value Japanese cards very highly. You might be able to find some one who is willing to trade $20 worth of cards for it.

Assuming you meant Liliana Vess and not Liliana of the Veil , you got screwed. Japanese cards are worth no more than any normal card. At all. Unless you feel like scamming someone, like what just happened to you, you will not get any more than about four dollars. Tops.

Also, do your best to figure out if its actually Japanese. People prey on ignorance and often mark any foreign card as Japanese. Or they fall victim to their own ignorance and accidentally mark it as Japanese.

This is what a Japanese Liliana Vess should look like. *link*

This will not happen.

Then every single card store I've ever been to is scamming because Vess has been around 8 everywhere I go. And it is Japanese, I already varified before I bought. I do know some people crazy about Japan cards, and lastly I need her for a deck. I guess to some it is and some it isn't worth it.

Dealer Price != Actual Price

Dealers will always be (grossly) higher than the actual card value. Reason being that they have to make money. This is the reason that One With Nothing s can be found with a $2 label on them. They're not actually worth $2 (about a hundredth of it), but the dealer needs $2.

Well unless a card is worth a riddiculius amount of money, like $10,000 then anyone will sell for more than valued price.

Not if you can't get rid of it at all.

For anyone that isn't a dealer, moving cards from your binder trumps nearly all. You take what you need then and there, what will hold value down the road, and you pitch the rest as fast as you possibly can since its value can't go anywhere but down.

Which means the only reason this thread was created was for complements.

Unfortunately, I'm not willing to indulge. In the future, please utilize the Trade Thread stickied at the top of the forums.
