This came up at our last game, and we really didnt want to look up the rules at the time. I also just did a search and came up with nothing (maybe I'm searching wrong)

My opponent resolved a Withengar Unbound and I proceeded to use a Silent Departure on it.

We weren't sure how that works, does it go to his hand as Withengar Unbound or as Elbrus, the Binding Blade if it goes as the creature, does it now have a casting cost of 0?

Only the front side of dual-faced cards matters in any zone other than the battlefield.

It goes to his hand as Withengar Unbound for the purposes of triggered abilities, but once it's in his hand, it reverts to being Elbrus.
